It's close to home, so I can be a commuter. I also got a very good scholarship, along with some additional financial aid. Also, it's a small campus which means I get more attention. Additionally, they let your dual credits transfer without taking the GPA!
Course Curriculum :
I actually like how the business degree plan goes, because all of the majors go hand in hand, so it's easy to double major. I don't like how hard the gen-Ed English classes are, but I do like the culture classes!
Exams :
I took the ACT (27) and the SAT (1250) - my high school GPA was a 3.8 and I was ranked 32/320 graduates - so my cut off was top 10%.
Placement :
St Edwards has awesome connections, so most people are guaranteed internships and jobs as soon as they graduate. Every professor (at least in the business field) has connections, and most have real-life experience in what they are teaching.
Internship :
Yes, they even have an internship fair! And in business classes, they?ll have guest speakers, and even they will let you know if you can apply to be an intern. I?m a freshman, so I haven?t really done anything, but I know I?ll get an internship Junior or senior year.
Events :
We have homecoming, and a bunch of other events for sports, clubs, and organizations. There's something going on each and every week. Personally, I really like the guest speakers because you can always learn (and get extra credit) from them.
Fees :
We have monthly payments, and you can set them up to be automatic or self-structured. I'm not sure about dorm fees since I'm a commuter, but I know that for meal plans commuters have to pay $150 a semester, and it'll roll over from fall to spring, but not from spring to fall.
Scholarship :
In total, I have $96,000 in scholarships/grants. $72,000 of that is merit-based, $18,000 is academically based. The rest is granted/financial aid. Next year I will have an opportunity to apply for dean's list scholarships and honors society scholarships. If it wasn't for all that, I couldn't afford to go here. All you have to do to accept the money is to go to your payment plan and accept it through there.
Examination Structure :
It depends on the class, honestly. There are rarely open-note exams. Most are multiple-choice, but classes like MGMT, COSC, and Presentational Speaking are usually the open answers. As far as final/midterm schedules, some classes have tri-terms, others have projects that count as exam grades, and others have essays.
Faculty :
They're really easy to work with if you communicate with them through email or go to office hours, for the most part. You just have to ask them what they want and ask them for advice and feedback and you're golden.
Hostel :
I don't live on campus, and I commute from home. There are no living accommodations for me, but I don't have to pay extra for dorms. I still have access to resources such as the library and writing center, though.
