CHRISTOPHER HUERTA Review at Abilene Christian University [ACU], Abilene | Collegedunia

Abilene Christian University: Liberal Arts at it's Finest

CH
8.5 /10

I knew this college as it is a local college and have heard so many good reviews. The admission process was a simple answer question about what you plan to use your faith and major to benefit the world and the usual college application things. The fees I knew were going to be a problem and I've heard about colleges giving you a base price however ACU allows you to know what will be coming in and out of the charges. I chose this college because it was right for me and the scholarships were a plus. Especially since I was only 18th in my class out of 92.

Course Curriculum :

It's some of the greatest teaching I've had in a while.

Exams :

I took the program to become more immersed with my passion and I knew ACU allowed me to do that. There weren't any requirements however they encourage piano to have been taken before yet you can test out of basic piano if needed. They didn't ask for any specific requirements but it was a good help to get music theory beforehand.

Internship :

ACU offers a variety of jobs, these jobs can usually be found in emails being sent by the campus job coordinator in which students can see what jobs are available. I'm not familiar with how the jobs are on campus but I know they get the job done.

Events :

Some events celebrated are opening game day for football, homecoming, along with casual miniature celebrations for students.

Fees :

The fee structure was based on classes taken. Music came with a bit of fee but the tuition and more was able to be paid off in a 6-month payment plan. Scholarships come in all different ways based on usual scores and more. There is a complete list of scholarships on the website, however, does have the list.

Scholarship :

Yes, the process was simple as it was a part of the actual application process. The institution scholarships are based on scores and interest and FAFSA. This was a worrisome situation for me but in ACU I feel like I have the world to teach.

Examination Structure :

Exams are taken when a teacher believes a student should know the course material. The teachers believe that students should not be overloaded and stressed.

Faculty :

They're friendly, helpful, understanding but also push you to get the best out of you. They work to make sure you're familiar with the campus and work to make sure you aren't stuck behind.

Hostel :

ACU has allowed me to live off-campus. This was to accommodate the fact that my parents live only 10 minutes away from ACU and I was able to live with them. Although waking up may be a hassle, I make sure there's more time to get myself right.
