I received in-state tuition, it had a great program for my chosen major. I was then able to receive help and expand my major into a double major with a minor, and I have always loved the CU Campus and the activities as well as Greek organizations that it offers.
Course Curriculum :
I believe that the course curriculum is proficient in helping students to learn basic material, but as with anything, could be improved drastically. In some areas, such as the political science major, the initial year of education within the major courses leaves a political science major feeling lost as to what they want to do for a potential career.
Exams :
I took the SAT and ACT, ended up submitting ACT after the first try with a score of 33. I took the SAT a couple of times but decided the ACT was a better option for me.
Placement :
I have heard, opportunities are quite extensive, and placements usually fit the individuals who applied. I was planning on having a job on campus my freshman year, but it has been quite an up and down year so I'm sticking to just taking a job over the summer.
Internship :
Yes, my college does provide an internship option. I did not take part in that option this year as I was looking to focus on adjusting to college life, but I will most likely take an internship for my sophomore, junior, and senior years. Usually, the internships are not paid but instead grant a work-study experience title.
Events :
There are many cultural events celebrated, and many events hosted by faculty such as those dedicated to the environment. CU has some kind of celebration for most all holidays, such as Christmas, and before breaks, everyone goes out to fraternities and parties.
Fees :
I don't really know that much about the fees for my attendance since my mom is an accountant and does that sort of thing very well. However, I do know that we pay in-state tuition, as well as a fee for boarding, meal plan, and books for each class.
Scholarship :
Yes, I did receive some scholarship. I received the President's Award, the highest CU scholarship, for my high school GPA, extracurricular activities, and my standardized test scores.
Examination Structure :
The exam structure is good. I enjoy when professors use scantrons since they are easy to grade and quick. However, there are always a couple of teachers who will just use the paper to circle answers or will provide free-response questions. The free-response questions are particularly stressful because we only have 50 minutes to complete 2 free responses and about 20 multiple choices.
Faculty :
I think the faculty is good, but some professors just don't seem to find the importance of teaching every class as if he had his own child as a student in it. While most of the faculty is good, the best faculty on campus is absolutely the resource centre faculty, such as disability services.
Hostel :
I would still choose to live in the dorm for at least a semester. In the second semester, the dorm became the kind of a nuisance, and I felt I had already gathered all the experience I needed in such a small tight space. Next year, I am looking to live in my sorority house.
