My USF Research Reviews

I had an internship at USF. The internship was based on a fellowship, Building Energy Efficiency Higher and Advanced Network (BHAVAN) provided by Indo US Science and Technology (IUSSTF) and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Course Curriculum :

I had a course of 3 Credits. The course was related to the design of Solar Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal Power plants using advanced software. The course was very helpful in understanding and developing my research expertise. We had been taught by two experienced faculties and the faculties were very helpful in clarifying doubts.

Placement :

I am in Research and Teaching field. Currently, I am employed in an academic and research institute of the Government of India. It's a National Institute of Technology and the average package at the entry-level is 15 LPA.

Internship :

I had an internship/fellowship, BHAVAN provided by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The fellowship was fully paid by DST, GOI. The stipend was 3000 USD per month. I didn't have any on-campus internships.

Fees :

Since my course/internship was funded by Indo US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) and the Department of Science and Technology, the government of India. So, I have not paid any fee and some essential payments were done online.

Scholarship :

I got Building Energy Efficiency Higher and Advanced Network (BHAVAN) Fellowship. It was provided by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The selection criteria of the fellowship were based on the research proposal, host university supervisor and the research papers published in the same field and the academic credentials of the applicant.

Faculty :

I had a course of 3 Credits. The course was related to the design of Solar Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal Power plants using advanced software. Campus Life :

The campus life was very good. I have many beautiful memories of the campus. We have been provided all the research facilities. There were so many clubs and societies related to different activities. We has a group of more than 10 friends and there were more than 1000 fellow countrymen in the university.

Hostel :

I stayed with the university students in a shared apartment off-campus. My apartment was 2 km far from the university and university transport facilities are very good and frequent without any payment. The apartment was furnished. I selected the apartment based on the distance from the university, the availability of grocery stores nearby and the facilities available in the apartment.
