Keerthana Radhakrishnan Review at Oregon State University [OSU], Corvallis | Collegedunia

Great experience!

The program specifications aligned well with my research and career goals. The program also had a curriculum that satisfied all my needs to learn required skills. I was confident that the skills that the course would provide me would be helpful in setting my career in the field of public health

Course Curriculum :

The required courses were well distributed throughout the year and there was flexibility in taking up the courses according to my comfort. The coursework and assignments were not too overwhelming. I got help from my TAs and my professors whenever needed.

Exams :

admission requirements: Minimum 3.00 gpa, GRE (minimum 290) and IELTS/TOEFL tests, Bachelors degree in related field My scores: GPA- 3.9, IELTS- 7.5, GRE- 301/340

Placement :

We did not have any career fair specific for Public health careers. However, we did have many conferences where we would meet with many organizations and companies.

Events :

Campus was always lively with variety of events being conducted throughout the term. Most of them included crafts, fun competitions, and lots of music and dancing. There were many events that would focus on improving student's mental health. One such event is Paws to destress, which was an event where the students can spend some time with the dogs to relieve stress. This was usually conducted just before finals week.

Scholarship :

no

Faculty :

faculty to student ratio depends on the course taken. On an average, it was 1:25 ratio. The faculty were patient enough to help you clarify your doubts. They were flexible enough to extend the deadlines if needed. The Teaching Assistants were also helpful in clarifying quick doubts. Office hours well maintained.

Hostel :

I stayed in a university affiliated student housing apartments which was ver close to the campus. Monthly rent was around 900 dollars. In the second year, I stayed in a town house which was around 1100 dollars/month. I had a couple of roommates to share the place.
