Rachel Review at Texas State University, San Marcos | Collegedunia

Beautiful campus and fun environment. It was a work out going through campus which was very much appreciated. The amenities offered were very nice like the gym and the library and the hours were great.

Scenic campus. Not far away from my family's home so it was easy to travel back and forth when need be. It was close to a large city that provided the entertainment needed as well as a lot of parks around the area.

Course Curriculum :

The course curriculum for the degree I received was very relevant to the field work that can be done with the degree. It gave me the basic ideas and skills needed to succeed in the field that I am a part of.

Placement :

Job opportunities in the field I went to school for are very minimum in the surrounding area but very plentiful when moving. Actual job placement was very sparse and I do not know very many students who were able to find a job through the college.

Internship :

It does provide internships but I was not part of internships as the ones I was able to find where unpaid. Several internships were offered but not a single one was found that gave a pay that would be equivalent to an actual job for the amount of time.

Events :

Football is celebrated in the college and the river is often celebrated. Although most events centered around drinking which is a very negative experience for college students with no boundaries or experience with how to say no. I would have preferred more events that were not centered around partying.

Fees :

Basic fee structures and charges like any other physical school. Overpriced. The content we are getting for the price we are paying is not worth it.

Scholarship :

I applied for financial aid and it was too easy to receive more money than necessary when attending the school. Schools should provide feedback on the amount needed and the amount being taken out to prevent students from going into debt without realizing it.

Examination Structure :

The exam structure is basic and nothing to be condemned or applauded for. The exam structure is how a basic structure would be at any advanced learning facility. It depends on the instructor as to what the exam structure actually looks like.

Faculty :

The faculty is helpful and knowledgeable. Some faculty go above and beyond to inspire their students and help them succeed in real life.

Hostel :

Off-campus accommodation worked better for me as it was cheaper. Although student housing was comfortable as if there was a problem with roommates you could easily be moved from a room or apartment to a new room or apartment.
