Alexis Boron Review at Oakland University, Rochester | Collegedunia

Oakland University

AB
8.0 /10

This was a much cheaper option than many of the other colleges. Also, it was much closer in proximity to home than some of the other colleges I was looking at. It also has one of the best-rated programs for the degree I am seeking.

Course Curriculum :

The course curriculum is very well planned out, I think it is a little on the easier side but I do know some people still struggle with it. It also depends on the professor. I know with some professors people can easily get a 4.0, but in the same class with a different professor, it can be a struggle to keep a 3.5.

Exams :

SAT (1490) and ACT (35), I have not taken any university level exams besides the ones I've taken in class, which I usually do pretty well on anyways (84 and above).

Internship :

They do not automatically provide internships, but they hold many career fairs and workshops to give students access to apply to internships, most of which are unpaid. I have rarely seen any paid internships that were not work-study.

Fees :

Tuition is around $13,000 per semester and is charged in August for the fall semester and December for the winter semester. Room and board depending on where you live is around $10,000 per semester, and is charged at the same time as tuition.

Examination Structure :

Each class has a different exam structure based on the professor and the class being taken. I think this helps make sure that each class is being tested in the best way for the curriculum being taught, and it is very beneficial for not only the students learning but for the professors as well.

Faculty :

The faculty I have experienced are delightful, but I have heard some students complain about the difficulty of some of the professors they have had. In my opinion, the more difficult professors input more of their personality into the curriculum which just makes the students enjoy it that much more.
