Research Oriented Programs at the University of Virginia

AP
7.3 /10

Top university, well ranked CS program, research-oriented university and good opportunities for an on-campus assistantship.

Course Curriculum :

The research-oriented curriculum offers good flexibility.

Exams :

All they need is GRE. TOEFL/IELTS is not needed if the language of instruction in the undergraduate is English. My score in GRE is 316.

Placement :

Career Center is active and organizes many fairs/events. However, most of the application process for CS is online, especially for international students as only a few companies participating in the fair will sponsor visas.

Internship :

Internship canceled due to COVID. worked on-campus in the summer for RA.

Events :

Charlottesville is a college town with a vibrant student community and lots of things to do in Academic Village.

Fees :

The program fee is approximately $60,000.

Scholarship :

Received a $2000 scholarship.

Faculty :

Low faculty-to-student ratio, small class size for Masters and Ph.D.

Hostel :

Had accommodation on campus, rent is 660 per month all inclusive - decent 2 BR housing
