GT is a big name, especially in the south. The department is relatively new, extremely knowledgeable, really cohesive and extremely supportive. They gave me the best funding.
Course Curriculum :
My program is extremely relevant. My classes include a lot of coding and research.
Exams :
GRE: 160 Verbal, 164 quant; IELTS/TOEFL - was waived for me; essays required as well.
Placement :
Great, people graduating from my program end up working for the Federal Reserve/World Bank etc. Those who go in the industry usually end up in a research position.
Internship :
N/A
Events :
I think there is a vibrant community but it is all under wraps currently due to COVID. I have not had the chance to experience it too much. The library is great though, so are the gyms.
Fees :
I am not entirely sure because I don't pay it but I think its about 35-40k/semester.
Scholarship :
Yes, tuition waivers and stipend. I work as a TA for it. Comes with the program.
Faculty :
Since I am a PhD student, there are no more than 6-8 students in one class. Faculty is highly knowledgeable, approachable and kind.
Hostel :
I have been living in Atlanta since 2019. I started school at GT in 2020 so I already had an apartment here, which I really like. Its in a safe neighborhood and the rent is relatively cheap. I think there is also on-campus housing but I did not look into it. I have a roommate.
