Emma Review at Portland State University [PSU], Portland | Collegedunia

Wonderful university of oregon

E
8.7 /10

Beautiful campus with a very diverse population of people, this school offered the courses I wanted to take as a college student. The faculty was incredible in their teachings and the rec was stunning. The community was very accepting of those who are different because it is a liberal city.

Course Curriculum :

The course curriculum was enlightening. The required coursework gave people the well-rounded. We all hope to achieve following undergraduate college. People weren't just focused on their majors but many topics as a whole.

Exams :

SAT- no university exam was required beyond the SAT, but you were automatically only able to register for 100 level courses.

Placement :

Going to college, there's no guarantee you'll get a job after, some opportunities will be opened because of it but not many. You need a job to get experience but you need the experience to get a job. It's a vicious circle.

Internship :

No, I don't believe it provides internships you have to seek them out on your own. I do believe they provide resources to fund an internship but it is not offered. I did not have a stipend or internship.

Events :

The college celebrated minorities, women, black history, Lots of celebration of holidays and honors holidays if you need to go out of town for them. They do a bad job of honoring thanksgiving though because it is right around finals of the fall term.

Fees :

Tuition fees and Greek life fees, there are fees for club sports and then you must pay for your own groceries and living expenses. Living in the dorms is actually very expensive and you can find cheaper housing elsewhere.

Scholarship :

No, I did not use any financial aid so I cannot speak to this. I don't know what else to say about this matter.

Examination Structure :

The exam structure varies from class to class it's based on the instructor. The instructor decides the syllabus. It could be papers or exams or a combination, the exams could be scantron or online or in-class essays.

Faculty :

The faculty were knowledgeable and motivated, my upper division courses were led by both graduate students and professors. This was a great way to give students many resources to go to.

Hostel :

I lived in a sorority house and it was all managed by a house mom and she took care of literally everything besides the cooks who managed the food expenses and prep. It was a very great experience I would recommend it.
