The location was perfect-it was in a culturally rich city and was warm enough. The scholarship money was more than any school because I had both a merit and community service based scholarship, best projected success at the college itself.
Course Curriculum :
It's pretty necessary, I think people should have a well-rounded education. Often times we see science majors who are not well versed or articulate as a result of closed off curriculums. In addition, employers look for a variety of skills.
Exams :
ACT, Cambridge Global Perspectives and Research Papers 1,2,3,4. Also AP tests: Biology, Calculus AB/C, Physics, Language and Composition, World History, US History.
Placement :
I believe Tulane has a 74% job placement after graduation. This is large because of the extensive alumni network that helps recent grads find jobs in their industry of choice. In addition, there are Tulane alumni clubs in multiple cities.
Internship :
We are required to take a Tier 1 service learning and through that I have an internship lined up at various campus buildings and the organization I volunteered at. I?ve been told that internships are nice depending on the field of study.
Fees :
There were some on our meal plan which allocated 200$ for stolen food. There is as a student fee that pays for all the t-shirts we receive.
Examination Structure :
Firstly there is no midterm exam schedule. Only a finals schedule is organized by when the class typically meets. It is convenient and logical to organize the finals schedule in such a way. Exams are either taken in class or in our auditorium which is unfortunate.
Faculty :
I think some faculty, particularly in the liberal arts, are very passionate about their fields and research. I don't see as much passion for science teachers which is upsetting to me. But they all seem deserving of their position and display a lot of knowledge.
