Anessa Review at Stephen F. Austin State University [SFA], Nacogdoches | Collegedunia

I love the environment around my campus.

A
7.5 /10

I chose this college because it is a good program for my major. It was also far enough away from home for me to feel like I could be my own person. I also really liked the wooded area surrounding the town and the small campus.

Course Curriculum :

In the beginning, I hated taking all the basic requirements. When I started moving to some upper-level classes, I was worried about not being prepared for the real world. Now, I love my classes and I can't wait to take more.

Exams :

I took the SAT twice, but I don?t remember my score. I never took the ACT because it wasn?t required. I do plan on taking the GRE when it is time for me to do so because some of the colleges that I am looking at for grad school require it.

Placement :

I am not sure about this yet as I am not to that point in my education. I have a wonderful educational advisor who has given me great advice and amazing professors so I'm hoping that I will have lots of help.

Internship :

No.

Events :

The most notable event we have is Homecoming weekend. They have events all throughout the week and then on Friday, they put on a HUGE bonfire, have a free concert, and a firework display. This year, they got Jesse McCartney to come out.

Fees :

All fees were paid online. Everything was included in tuition and was broken down charge by charge so you know what you were paying for. They charged you for everything, no matter if you used it or not.

Scholarship :

Yes. My first year, I was awarded a scholarship for good grades and was promised to keep getting it as long as I kept my GPA up. I also received some financial aids awards through filling out the FAFSA.

Examination Structure :

It depends on the professor. In most of my in-person classes, we have a set exam day and take the exam within the allotted class time. Online classes have tests either online unobserved, online with an online watching software, or in person in a computer lab.

Faculty :

For the most part, I love everyone I've met. My professors are extremely helpful and obviously, want me to succeed. I've only had two negative encounters with professors, but fortunately, they didn't deter me and I will succeed in spite of them.

Hostel :

During my first two years, I lived in the dorms. I moved off campus into an apartment in my third year of college and was much happier living off campus. When I lived in the dorms, I was required to have a meal plan and didn't enjoy the food.
