Assumption's sociology program helps students better understand the richness and diversity of social life in an increasingly interconnected, complex, and multicultural world. Through both courses and co-curricular activities, faculty help students learn to thoughtfully consider their world, their society, and themselves.

The Sociology, Criminology & Anthropology program provides the foundation for a wide range of occupations in which knowledge of human behavior, social relationships and institutional practices is important.

Sociology majors take 12 courses: six required and six electives. This breadth of coursework prepares students for a variety of engaging career paths.

• The option to receive a?Bachelor?s Degree in sociology and criminology in just 18 courses, providing students the opportunity to double major and receive a degree in only four years.

Career Opportunities

The Department of Sociology, Criminology and Anthropology prepares students for graduate study in anthropology and in related fields such as social work, urban planning and policy analysis, gerontology, education, law, journalism, and criminal justice.
