Studying at Mills inspires creativity at the intersection of video, music, dance, studio art, computer programming, and electronics. Under the mentorship of faculty with expertise in multiple disciplines and technologies, majors specialize in one of the following concentrations:

  • In the art concentration, you’ll draw from a wide range of technologies—from interactive digital media to traditional art forms—to make original artwork. In small classes, you’ll study audio engineering, electronic and performance art, modern dance, and more, gaining technical and aesthetic skills as well as knowledge of art theory, criticism, and history. In your final year, you’ll focus on preparing work for a senior exhibition on campus.
  • In the technology concentration, you’ll investigate connections among computer programming, electronics, and creative arts. Your professors will help you chart an individualized path toward your academic and career goals. You’ll take foundation courses in computer science, electronic circuitry, and programming for sound and video. Electives allow you to focus on data science, application development, performing arts, hardware design, or interactivity.
