CMRU B.Tech eligibility criteria are as follows:
- 12th Grade/Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages with a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Electronics/Computers (40% for reserved category candidates).
- 3-year diploma programs, with at least 45% marks in aggregate of the final year i.e. 5th and 6th Sem of diploma (40% for SC/ST/OBC) are eligible for lateral entry into the second year (3rd semester) and having taken up the DCET entrance tests with valid scores/ranks.

University also provides research and doctoral programs in various disciplines. Candidates who wish to pursue research in their subject can obtain the admission form and information brochure from the website www.cmr.edu.in. It invites application in the month of December.
The filled in application form along with all the required documents & Application Fee of INR 1250/- in the form of cash or by a Demand Draft drawn in favor of "CMR University" payable at Bangalore should be sent to The Registrar, CMR University, City Campus, HRBR Layout, Kalyananagar, Bangalore - 560043 or may be submitted in person to Admissions Office of CMR University, on or before 30th January,2O17.
The candidates who have qualified UGC NET (including JRF/UGC-CSIR NET)/Teacher Fellowship holder or candidates who have passed M.Phil. (Full Time/Part Time) or any other examination considered equivalent by the Admissions Committee are exempted from Ph.D entrance exam.
