It depends on what it is that you want as both are different subjects. It depends on your preference. According to my cousin who studied CSE at MNIT, if you want a challenging job and you are aiming for PSUs, then mechanical engineering may be good. But the placements of mechanical even in top colleges like IITs will be lower than their CSE counterparts. If you like corporate sector private jobs in the IT or software sector, then CSE at MNIT Jaipur is a very good option. Campus placements will be much easier with packages far higher than mechanical. This does not mean that CSE is an easy subject. It can be difficult especially if you do not have a coding background in your class 11th and 12th. For that, you need to put extra effort during your graduation.
