IIT Kanpur MBA Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for MBA admission at IIT Kanpur, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

Academic Scores: General Category students must score 65% and above in Class X and Class XII examinations, while SC/ST candidates should have an aggregate of 55% and above. Any of the following degrees qualified by candidates (with the minimum percentage as given above) can apply for MBA admission: 

  • B. Tech. or B.E. or B. Arch. (with Mathematics as one of the subjects in Class XII)
  • B. Sc. Engineering (with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the UG program)
  • B.Sc / M.Sc with Mathematics
  • MA Economics (with Maths as one of the subjects in the UG program) with a CPI of 6.5 (or 5.5) from AICTE recognised institute/university, or from IIT / NIT / IIIT.

Note: Final year students awaiting their results are also eligible to apply.

CAT 2023 Scores: Candidates must also have a valid CAT score to be eligible. CAT score with above 85 percentile for Gen / EWS / OBC category students and 75 score for SC / ST students.

Admissions are usually offered on the basis of the CAT scores, a Group Discussion, and a Personal Interview. But this year there are a few changes. The parameters considered for final selection with their corresponding weightage is as follows:

  • Visit the official website of IIT Kanpur and click on Admissions. 
  • Register yourself and log in on Pingala portal (for PG admissions).
