Course Details

BHU BA LLB is a 5-year full-time course that is divided into 10 semesters. It's an on-campus program with a total intake of 74 students each year. The medium of instruction for the course BA LLB is English. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to BALLB at BHU is 10+2. BHU BALLB admission 2024 will be based on scores obtained in the CUET UG examination. CUET UG 2024 registrations will begin soon. BHU BA LLB Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for BA LLB admission at BHU, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Applicants who have successfully completed/are appearing in Senior Secondary School (10+2) or equivalent (Such as 11+1, “A” level in Senior School Leaving Certificate course) examination from a recognized University of India or outside or from a Senior Secondary Board or equivalent constituted or recognized by the Union or by a State Government or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognized by the Government of that country for the purpose of issue of qualifying certificate on successful completion of the course.

BHU BA LLB Admission Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to BA LLB at BHU must clear the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) conducted by NTA. Candidates are required to opt for Section I A Language Test - (Hindi or English) and Section II Legal Studies and Section III General Test in the CUET exam. Candidates who will not appear in Section I A Language (English/Hindi) and Section II Legal Studies and Section III, will not be considered for admission. The final selection will be based on the merit list released by the university. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of combined Scores of Section IA +Score of Section II + Section III].

BHU BA LLB Application Process

Candidates applying for BA LLB (Hons.) in BHU are required to apply for the CUET on the official website of NTA. The application process for CUET is as follows:

  • Candidates must visit the official CUET website - cuet.samarth.ac.in. 
  • Upon opening the website candidates will find the ‘Register’ tab, they must click on it. 
  • After reading and understanding the information provided, candidates must hit the ‘Proceed’ button. 
  • After this, candidates will be directed to the application form. Candidates must fill in the required details carefully. 
  • After filling the necessary details candidates will have to upload important documents such as signature, photograph, marksheet, etc. Candidates must upload all the required documents. 
  • Candidates need to pay the application fee at the time of submitting the form or else the Online Application Form will not be considered.
  • After submitting the fee, candidates print out the form and save a hard copy for future references.
  • Candidates can login to their portals for any new updates, college cutoffs and so forth.

BHU BA LLB Entrance Exam

BHU is accepting CUET scores for admission to the BA LLB program. CUET is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency) for admission into central universities across India. Some of the details about the exam are:

  • CUET will be a computer-based test (CBT) that will consist of multiple-choice questions based on NCERT.
  • It will consist of 4 sections (Section IA: 13 languages, Section IB: 20 Languages, Section II: 27 Domain-Specific Subjects, Section III: General Test)
  • It is not mandatory to choose from every section. The choice should be based on the requirements of the institute for a particular subject. 
  • As for B.Tech in BHU, the candidates will have to opt for Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics papers in Section II. In Section IA, they can choose any language.
  • For the Domain-specific subjects, each paper will have 50 questions and the candidates will have to appear for 40 questions. Also, each paper will be of 45 minutes.

  • The maximum number of seats in the course of BA LLB is 74 and the minimum is 30.
  • Out of these seats, 15% of seats are reserved for SCs, 7.5% for STs, 27% for OBCs, and 3% seats are reserved for physically challenged people.

BHU BA LLB course details are as follows: 

  • The course duration of BA LLB is for 3 years.
  • The curriculum includes classroom teaching, seminars, moots, internships, training sessions, and field visits.
  • The elective course starts in the 2nd year of the course.
  • The students must start moots and internships from the 5th semester.
  • The students must maintain 75% of attendance in their current session.

  • Blind students to get free lunch and dinner under the program ‘Anadaan Yojna’.
  • 20 selected blind students will get financial assistance of INR 5000 per annum.
  • 100 selected students from financially weak backgrounds will be provided INR 2000 per annum.
  • A one-time grant of INR 4500 will be provided to a maximum of 25 physically handicapped students for their entire session.
