What students say about National Institute of Technology - [NIT]

Likes

  • THE INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE COLLEGE IS ONE OF THE BEST AMONG ALL NITS
  • Campus life is best as i have participated in varipus events....
  • There's a park in this college which is best for evening chill.
  • The infrastructure of our college department building and hostels provided is very good.
  • Computer science and Electronics and electrical engineering placement are very good
  • Fests of the college is very good and up to the mark.
  • The TSR park is a great place for hanging out with friends at evenings.

Dislike

  • Just like most of the regular colleges nit, Agartala had a boring course structure which included assignments (super boring - including copying from the book and pasting in your copy), test after test, and mostly boring classes.
  • Yes, they provide internships, but not enough for students. The number of companies visiting the college is significantly lower compared to those visiting any national institute. As a result, students often seek internships outside of the college.
  • Some basic facilities that are missing are WiFi, and no shops are open after 10 pm.
  • I didnt find any bad remarks, but I must say the campus is too big.

Placement Experience:

At the start of the 4th year company starts to come for placement. There are many companies that have visited some are Amazon, Google, Adobe, Reliance, BHEL, Tekion, Oracle, Infoedge, Infotech, IDFC first bank, Intuit, PayPal etc. The average package of my department is 11lpa. Around 80% studet\nt have been placed.

Remarks:

The admission process for NIT Agartala was smooth and efficient. I applied for the B.tech course through the JEE Mains entrance exam. The application process for JEE was online, and I had to fill in my personal and academic details, upload scanned documents and pay the admission fees. The eligibility criteria for the B.tech course in NIT Agartala was a minimum of 75% marks in your class 12th, along with a valid JEE mains score. The respective dates regarding the exam, and form fees, will be available on the official website of nta. I think the admission process was well-organised and streamlined. However, one improvement I would suggest is to provide more transparency in the counselling process, especially for the allocation of seats. It would be helpful if the institute could provide more detailed information regarding the criteria used for seat allocation, as it would help students make more informed choices.

From the 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements. Many companies visit NIT Agartala like Amazon, Google, Infosys, TCS, Deloitte, HCL, Nagarro, Tekion, Oracle and they provide a very high package of more than 15 LPA. Highest package was 53 Lakhs and average package was 7 lakhs in Software Engineer role. 90 percent students get placed in reputed companies.

Remarks:

For admission in this college you need crack an entrance exam namely JEE Main. After the exam, according to your rank in that exam you seat for counselling which is conducted by JOSAA. Criteria for getting into this college is you have to score good in JEE Main entrance exam.

Placement Experience:

The placement season begins at the ending of the sixth semester and the beginning of the seventh semester and goes on. A big number of companies approximately 150 in number visit the campus to hire students. The highest placement from EIE this year was 37 LPA and the majority of the students barring one or two were placed.

Remarks:

The admission is done through the Joint Entrance Examination(JEE) Mains, you'll get the CSE to the 98 percentile and till Electronics and Instrumentation, you can get it at the 95 percentile approximately, the application form can be filled on the JEE mains website itself after the order issued.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose mechanical because I was interested in automobiles and machines. At that time faculty-student ratio was around 4:1 All the faculties are highly qualified and very helpful, and they chose mechanical because I was also very interested in the teaching methods. The schedule has been perfectly maintained.

Remarks:

Admission process through JEE MAINS. in 2015 cutoff for mechanical was around AIR 26000 for another state quota. And 90000 for the home state quota. You can find all details on the institute's website. Eligibility 12th pass with 65%. No need for any improvement in the admission process.

For the 7th sem placement season starts. Big companies like Google, Microsoft, Adobe visits, As I remember 65L I guess the highest package in 2021. and 15 L is the average package but depending upon the branch. Almost 90% are placed. My plan is first to get a placement.

Remarks:

Admission through JEE Mains. The cutoff for general OS students is 91 percentile (production). For SC students OS is 80 percentile. For ST it is lower than 80. For CSE (other states) general students, you should have above the 96 percentile.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty is average with a good knowledge of subjects. girls and boys are present in a fixed ratio as it's decided by the government around 30:70. faculty and teaching methods are average. mid-term and end-term exams are conducted each semester and it's not much difficult to score here.

Remarks:

Students should have secured 75 per cent in 12. You have to give jee mains exam to get into nit agartala, its application form is available on nta.nic.in. The exam is conducted from January-April. Reservation based on basics of the cast are given (st /sc, obc and ews).

Placement Experience:

So about the placements students from the 7th semester are eligible for the interviews and from the end of the 5th semester they are eligible for on-campus internships. And from any year they apply for internships in other colleges and companies. Our seniors help us to get the internship. A lot of companies visit our companies like Amazon, TCS, Infosys, and other big companies they provide very big packages to the students who are skillful+ NIT tag also matters so its east to shine in the interviews. The highest package was for the student from the ECE department it was around 64lpa domestic package. Around more than 80% of students get placed in our college. My plans are clear I want to get a decent job with a good package.

Remarks:

I cleared JEE by self-study and after that, I sat in jossa counseling I belonged to the sc category so the cut-off for NIT Agartala was around 5.4k to get up to the circuital branch. Yes, people belonging to the sc community of Tripura will have the best of the best benefits. The admission process after jossa is quite hectic you have to visit the college for further admission process. See after jossa you have to visit the nit Agartala site there new link will be generated for students specified as admission process for B.Tech for this year you will go through it and upload all your required documents and then when you will visit the college offline confirmation they are gonna ask you for the hard copies for the uploaded documents.

Placement Experience:

After 6th sem students are eligible for placement. More than 50 companies visit every year like Google, Microsoft, oil India, etc. More than 300 offers were made. The highest package is 42 lakh/annum(Google as Software Engineer) CSE. Average package approx. 8 lakh per annum. 90% of students got placed and some are continuing their studies. After getting a degree, start working as a software engineer.

Remarks:

Eligibility: 12th passport and above 92 percentile in JEE Mains. We can find the application form on Google by typing jee mains and after clicking on jee website. The application fee is 1500 for general, EWS, OBC, and 700 for women sc/St. The last date of jee mains 2023 is 12th January. Normally we can avail the benefit of the National institute of technology like every national institute has caste reservation (obc, EWS, St/sc, PWD). College should improve their admission process fast and upload student documents as soon as possible.
