It was established under the aegis of Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust. The university conducts medical courses at Undergraduate (MBBS) and Post- Graduate (MD, MS) and Post Graduate Diploma levels
- The College is planning to start doctoral courses in Biochemistry, Microbiology and fellowship programme in Head and Neck Onco-Surgery.
- The college is associated with R.L. Jalappa Hospital & Research Centre
