Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course out of my love for circuits and systems. Can't imagine a world full of intelligent devices without electronics, be it IOT or VLSI. The electronics and communication industry is very promising. The faculty-to-student ratio is great. Exams happen very regularly and were of moderate difficulty.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am currently pursuing electronics and communication engineering I have chosen the course because I am very interested in chip design, processor design, and semiconductor devices. The student ratio that is boys to girls is 3:1. The faculty are highly talented everyone is an expert in their field most of them have a degree of master's as well as a Ph.D. we have two main exams one is mid sem and other one ends sem other than that we are having our normal quizzes and assignments are given. In most of the courses, mid-sem and end-sem cover 50% of the total score while the other 50% is covered by the rest. the difficulty of the course varies some are very tough which is really difficult to pass while others are easy but overall it is normal and okay. If one should do it on a regular basis of 3 to 4 hours a day bringing an 8 CGPA is easy.

Ques. Which is better: NIT Goa ECE or NITK EEE?

● Top Answer By Piyali Rao on 24 Aug 21

Among these two courses and colleges, you should probably choose EEE at NITK. Having to know some people studying in both these institutes, I can say that the infrastructure and facilities provided at NIT Goa are very poor, it is also below NITK in terms of rankings.  The campus of NITK is very beautiful with lush green surroundings. NIT Goa is much smaller and might be built inside a state government-run college. Students can enjoy leisure time along with their studies.  The faculty is very talented and highly experienced.  The course curriculum is updated according to the recent industry trends. The placement opportunities are excellent. A lot of companies visit the campus for interviews.  NITK is also better if you want to do higher studies like machine learning, etc. Categories EEE at NIT Surathkal Course Fee 5.40 lakh Highest CTC 14-15 LPA Average CTC 8-9 LPA Recruiting Companies Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, nVidia, Western Digital, etc. Hence, choosing EEE at NITK will be a better option as the faculty, infrastructure, and placements of this college is great and there is also a very good scope of higher studies. ...Read more

Ques. Which is easier, EEE or ECE at NIT Surathkal?

● Top Answer By Tanushree Sen on 10 Jun 21

I have a few friends at NIT Surathkal and based on the conversation I had with them, I will say at NIT Surathkal, ECE is considered to be the toughest branch. The academics and research are taken very seriously in the department. The professors are demanding and highly qualified than other departments. In this department everyone, from HOD to lab assistants, everyone is serious about studies and making a point about academic rigor. The exams are also very tough and students even fail in lab examinations too. But the scenario at the EEE department of NIT Surathkal is slightly different and its biggest advantage is that it has a relaxed attendance policy, unlike other branches. The recent placement statistics for the branches are as follows. Branch ECE EEE Average CTC 8-9 LPA 5 LPA Highest CTC 24 LPA 30 LPA...Read more

Ques. Which is better, IIT Bhubaneswar for ECE, BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus for CSE or NIT Surthkal for ECE?

● Top Answer By Subir Ghosh on 13 Aug 20

BITS is the better choice among all as CSE has more scope than ECE. And NIT Surathkal is an old institute with a better placement record than IIT Bhubaneswar.  Since BITS Hyderabad is the newest among all other campuses and it certainly is a little behind in terms of faculty, infrastructure, etc. But when compared on a national level it is on par with any other institute. It provides the students with a prime location to look for internships and also provides an edge to them if they are opting for off-campus placements. Although the institute provides students with decent opportunities for on-campus placements also. Around 200 companies visit the campus each year and around 94% of the student secured a job through campus placements with an average package of around 5-6 lakhs per annum and the highest package offered was as high as 14 lakhs per annum. NIT Surathkal is among the top NITs of this country. The placements of students of this branch are also good although NIT Trichy and Warangal have better placement records. The average placement package offered at this NIT is around 14.15 LPA and 100% placement was observed for B.Tech batches in last year’s placement drive. ECE is one of the new branches that started at IIT Bhubaneswar starting from 2016. Hence the first batch of students will graduate in 2020. In 2019, the average CTC offered in this IIT was 11.44 LPA. Many core companies, software companies, PSU’s, etc. hire electrical engineers from IIT Bhubaneswar hence one can assume the same trend to be followed for electronics and communication engineering also but the result is yet to be seen....Read more

Ques. Which is better, IIT Bhubaneswar for mechanical or NIT Surathkal for ECE?

● Top Answer By Kritika Agarwal on 14 Aug 20

As your choice of course is different, it’s hard to select between IIT Bhubaneswar and NIT Surathkal. According to the NIRF 2019, IIT Bhubaneswar is ranked at 26, which is a good rank considering it’s a new IIT. The Mechanical Engineering department is quite good at IIT Bhubaneswar. According to the 2019 placement record, 83% students got job offers from Mechanical Engineering in IIT Bhubaneswar. Many famous companies such as Amazon, H Jindal Stainless Ltd, KEC International, KIIT, Rao Edusolutions, TATA steel, TATA Advance System, Thermax, TETCOS, TESCO, UHG, and other companies as well recruited students last year. NIT Surathkal is a well-reputed name in Indian Engineering institutions. According to NIRF Ranking, it ranks at 22 nationally among engineering institutes in India. ECE in this NIT is even better as compared to a few IITs. The placement records of 2018-19 show that 97% of placement offers were received by students in this department. The average placement offer was 12-13 LPA. Both IIT Bhubaneswar for Mechanical and NIT Surathkal for ECE are good choices with their own advantages. So, choose wisely according to your convenience....Read more

Ques. Which is better, NITK for a CS or IIT Bhubaneswar for electronics and communication?

● Top Answer By Himani Roy on 14 Aug 20

NITK ranks 21st in the Engineering Category by NIRF 2019. It is the top Institute among the NITs. During 2018-19, a total of 92% of students got placed from undergraduate programs. The Computer Science branch of NITK Surathkal received an annual package of 18 lakhs per annum. IIT Bhubaneswar ranks 17th in the Engineering Category by NIRF 2019. It is one of the new establishments of IIT. The cut off for Electronics and Communications in IIT Bhubaneswar is 1000-3000. A total of 86% placement was recorded in the year 2019 from the Electronics and Communications department. The Electronics and Communications branch of IIT Bhubaneswar received an annual package of 11 lakhs per annum. Though IIT Bhubaneswar has a better ranking, students often prefer choosing NITK other than the newer IITs. Due to its reliability and popularity among students. NITK is a much older institute than IIT Bhubaneswar resulting in having better connections with companies, faculty members, infrastructure, alumni, etc. Though CS students received more salary packages than Electronics and Communications it is up to you to choose which career will be perfect for you. You can choose to study in IIT Bhubaneswar by receiving the IIT tag or you can go for NITK which has been here for a long time....Read more
