Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose the course because of my interest and Electrical and electronics engineering is one of the core and circuital branches and this branch also has a good placement average. EEE department has the Faculty is good and almost everyone is Ph.D. qualified. Exams happen every two months and quizzes are conducted in between semesters. The teaching method and curriculum are good enough to get you an understanding of the course and its concepts. In every semester, one mid-semester and an end-semester exam are conducted. Midsem consists of half the curriculum while end-sem has the entire course curriculum. Quizzes are conducted before and after the exams. Assignments are given by the faculty which carry some of the weightage. Some courses also have lab evaluations. The exams altogether are not so difficult. The difficulty level is mediocre and it can be easily passed even with decent preparation. Every batch has around 60 students. So it is good enough for everyone to get the attention of the professor.

Ques. What should I choose: Electronics and Instrumentation in BITS Pilani Goa Campus, Electrical and Electronics in NIT Surathkal?

● Top Answer By Ankit Chaudhari on 21 Mar 23

To make an informed decision, it's crucial to understand that changing your choice based on the college you get into won't have much impact. You should acknowledge that Electronics and Instrumentation in BITS Pilani Goa Campus and Electrical and Electronics in NIT Surathkal are two distinct engineering streams with different colleges, and both colleges are excellent in their own right. Your selection of the branch should entirely depend on your interest. If you are intrigued by electrical or electronic circuits or have been fascinated by electricity since childhood, EEE is the perfect fit for you. Conversely, if you have an interest in instruments or daily life gadgets that make our lives more comfortable, you should opt for E&I. Keep in mind that EEE focuses on circuit design and development, while E&I focuses on circuit implementation in industries or the real world. EEE is a core branch that concentrates on its domain, but E&I combines all other core branches such as Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, and even Computer Science. Both EEE and E&I offer excellent job prospects in the market. E&I graduates can work in core fields or software industries. There is a plethora of industries related to electrical and electronics, so EEE also offers ample job opportunities. Therefore, both branches are exceptional in their way. Choose the one that piques your interest and don't sacrifice your area of interest due to college selection....Read more

Ques. Is an ENI in BITS Goa good, and is it better than NIT Surathkal's EEE?

● Top Answer By Kriti Anand on 20 Aug 21

ENI stands for Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering while EEE is Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Having known some people studying at both these institutions, I can say that BITS Goa is better than NIT Surathkal. In terms of infrastructure, BITS Goa is obviously better than NIT Surathkal.  Better companies visit BITS Goa campus than NIT Surathkal.  The course curriculum and the quality of academic projects are also better at BITS Goa.  The faculty at BITS Goa is also top-notch. In between the two branches, both are almost the same barring a few subjects (3 subjects to be precise).  The course load, placements, and projects all are similar between the two.  As these are core branches, getting placed in the core companies is going to be difficult at either of the institutes.  Categories ENI at BITS Goa EEE at NIT Surathkal Course Fee 19.19 lakh 5.40 lakh Highest CTC 25 LPA 30 LPA Average CTC 12-13 LPA 15 LPA Recruiting Companies Arcesium, Goldman Sachs, nVidia, Texas Instruments, etc. Qualcomm, L&T, Microsoft, Samsung, etc. Finally, I would say that ENI at BITS Goa is very good and actually might be a little better than EEE at NIT Surathkal....Read more

Ques. Which is better: NIT Goa ECE or NITK EEE?

● Top Answer By Piyali Rao on 24 Aug 21

Among these two courses and colleges, you should probably choose EEE at NITK. Having to know some people studying in both these institutes, I can say that the infrastructure and facilities provided at NIT Goa are very poor, it is also below NITK in terms of rankings.  The campus of NITK is very beautiful with lush green surroundings. NIT Goa is much smaller and might be built inside a state government-run college. Students can enjoy leisure time along with their studies.  The faculty is very talented and highly experienced.  The course curriculum is updated according to the recent industry trends. The placement opportunities are excellent. A lot of companies visit the campus for interviews.  NITK is also better if you want to do higher studies like machine learning, etc. Categories EEE at NIT Surathkal Course Fee 5.40 lakh Highest CTC 14-15 LPA Average CTC 8-9 LPA Recruiting Companies Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, nVidia, Western Digital, etc. Hence, choosing EEE at NITK will be a better option as the faculty, infrastructure, and placements of this college is great and there is also a very good scope of higher studies. ...Read more

Ques. Which is easier, EEE or ECE at NIT Surathkal?

● Top Answer By Tanushree Sen on 10 Jun 21

I have a few friends at NIT Surathkal and based on the conversation I had with them, I will say at NIT Surathkal, ECE is considered to be the toughest branch. The academics and research are taken very seriously in the department. The professors are demanding and highly qualified than other departments. In this department everyone, from HOD to lab assistants, everyone is serious about studies and making a point about academic rigor. The exams are also very tough and students even fail in lab examinations too. But the scenario at the EEE department of NIT Surathkal is slightly different and its biggest advantage is that it has a relaxed attendance policy, unlike other branches. The recent placement statistics for the branches are as follows. Branch ECE EEE Average CTC 8-9 LPA 5 LPA Highest CTC 24 LPA 30 LPA...Read more

Ques. Which should be preferred, CS at VNIT or EEE at NIT Surathkal?

● Top Answer By Suchandra Jha on 07 Jul 21

You are comparing two different branches; Computer (CSE) and Electrical (EEE). If you are naturally inclined towards a particular branch, then you should choose it no matter the institute. If you are not sure about the branch then let me share some facts I got to know while researching about the institutes. NIRF Engineering Ranking 2020 – VNIT Nagpur is ranked 27 while NIT Surathkal is ranked 13. Academics – In this regard both are equal. Some professors are good and some are really bad. Extra-Curricular Activities – NIT Surathkal is way better than VNIT Nagpur. You will always find some activity happening on the campus. VNIT Nagpur does not have any such activities being conducted regularly. Campus location – VNIT Nagpur is actually better than NIT Surathkal. Although the Surathkal beach which is right beside the college looks good in photos, the same cannot be said in person. The VNIT Nagpur campus on the other hand is clean and green. Workshops – At VNIT Nagpur most of the workshops organized by the clubs are paid while at NIT Surathkal most of them were free and open to all. The following table shows a brief insight on relevant facts for both institutes: Categories CS at VNIT EEE at NIT Surathkal Course Fee 5.50 lakh 5.45 lakh Highest CTC 25 LPA 15 LPA Average CTC 10-12 LPA 8-9 LPA Recruiting Companies Accenture, Deloitte, Wipro, Dell, etc. TCS, Phillips, Havells, nVidia, etc. Now that you have seen the comparison you can choose which one you like based on your needs and expectations. If you want then you can also make your decision based on the placement reports....Read more
