Master of Arts (M.A.) in Film Studies is a 2 year duration postgraduate program after bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. This course mainly focuses on the film industry and Indian cinema. Average fees of this course ranges from Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 1, 50,000 per annum. This course is designed to get familiar with film making and activities related to film industry. The main objective of this course is to give knowledge about research techniques by paying attention towards aesthetic, theoretical and historical interventions in the field of Film Studies. Candidates will be able to do film narrative activities while pursuing this course and it also pays attention towards textual analysis of cinema, history of the country and social challenge lying with an individual. This course is about engagement with the art of films, screenwriting, creative producing and directing of films. Film studies deal with historical and theoretical approaches to the films and also include knowledge exposure about media studies. It engages with the critical concerns regarding the historical roles, formal inventions and functions of the cinema sector.
Both cinema and photography is media technology but are different from each. Cinema is all about a cultural institution and as well as presenting the world in a sophisticated mode and we can explain anything through cinema activities whereas photography activity is on silent mode, it can’t express with words and just capturing the moments at a time.
