Master of Computer Applications [MCA] From Kashmir University, Srinagar
Course Description
Master of Computer Application (MCA) is a three year master degree course in computer applications. Any graduate student who has passed or appearing in final year exam is eligible for MCA course. BCA qualified students more preferably opt for this course. MCA is considered equivalent to engineering. MCA graduates are same as software engineers. MCA course is very popular after Computer Science in engineering. There are about 80000 seats available in about 1500 colleges offering MCA course across India.
After earning an MCA degree from a reputed Institute, there is plethora of job opportunities available in the market. There is a wide scope for MCA graduates in government as well as private sector. As a fresher, an MCA professional can expect anything around 2.4 to 3.4 lakhs. Top companies hiring MCA graduates are Accenture, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Cognizant, IBM, American Express, HCL, HP etc.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidate should have passed B.Sc. IT/ BCA/B.Sc. with Mathematics/B.Sc. with Mathematics at 10+2 level OR B.Tech/BE.
Course Details
The University offers admission in M.Tech, MBA, M.Com, MCME, MFC, MCA, M.LIS, LLM, M.P.Ed, M.E PG programmes for which admissions are on the basis of entrance or merit in the qualifying examination.
The duration of the programmes are 1 to 2 years. Candidates interested in admission must fulfill the basic eligibility criteria for the respective course.

| M.E | B.Ed with 3 years teaching experience in a recognized Educational Institute. |
Note: The M.Tech programme is offered under two specialisations namely - Computer Science Engineering and Embedded Systems and Solutions.
Selection Criteria
- Admission into the M.Tech programme is on the basis of GATE score.
- Admission into the MCME, MFC, MBA is based on the score of CMAT/CAT.
- Admission into the M.P.Ed is on the basis of a physical efficiency test conducted by the university.
- Admission into M.Com, MCA, M.LIS is on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.
