Andhra University offers Master of Arts courses at the university level. Master of Arts is a post-graduation program of two years. Students who had already possessed a graduation degree can go for this program. AU provides in-depth knowledge of the discipline that students have selected. Candidates can pursue an MA course under various specifications such as Different languages ( English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Telugu), Economics, History & Archaeology, Philosophy, Psychology, Social Work, Public Administration, Sociology, Anthropology, Music & Dance, Women Studies & Computer Applications, Yoga & Consciousness. 

  • The MA program consists of 4 semesters
  • Students have to clear AUCET for the course
  • The AUCET process starts in the month of March
  • Eligibility criteria are a minimum of 50% marks in graduation
  • MA Program seats will be filled through AUCET scores

AU MA Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for MA Course admission have to fit the eligibility criteria first. The below-mentioned are the eligibility criteria required to join the course.

  • The candidate should have completed their Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University with its equivalent duration.
  • The candidate has to score a minimum of 50% marks in their UG degree.
  • In the AUCET exam, candidates score General-50%, ST/SC/OBC-45%.
  • Candidates pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in the final year can apply for AUCET.

AU MA Admissions 2021

Selection Criteria:

The selection criterion for MA is purely granted on the basis of the candidate's merit through their AUCET scores. 

Firstly, the candidate will need to successfully submit the AUCET 2020 application form and make the payment of the application fee in order to sit for the AUCET entrance exam. Once all the formalities are completed, candidates will get the admit card as per the respective date.

How to Apply?

Here’s the admission process step by step:

Step 1: Fill AUCET 2021 application form

  • AUCET application form will be available on the Andhra University website from the 3rd week of March 2021. For the registration process, candidates have to visit the official site and fill in the required details.

Step 2: Application fee payment

  • Once the candidate fills in all the required details, the next step is payment. The payment can be done either online mode (debit/credit card/net banking/UPI) or offline mode (Challan/DD). 
  • The application fee differs by category wise i.e General/OBC Category Student’s fee INR 600 and ST/SC Category Student’s fee INR 500. 

Step 3: Download Admit card

  • After filling the application form, candidates can download the admit card from the official website so that they can enter the exam centre. 

Step 4: AUCET Entrance Exam

  • Candidates can attend the AUCET entrance exam on May 1st week 2021. Every single detail is mentioned in the admit card like exam center name & address, date, time, the requirement of verification documents, and such others. 
  • AUCET paper contains objectives type questions. The duration of the exam is 90 min.

Step 5: Result

  • Candidates who have appeared in the AUCET exam can check their results on the official site of the Andhra University. The tentative date for the result is May 3rd week 2021. 

Step 6: Counselling

  • Once the results get declared on the official site, the counselling date will get a release on the same site. Candidates need to carry the entire original and photocopy documents with them while attending the counselling process.

AUCET Exam Pattern

Andhra University Common Entrance Test (AUCET) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. It is conducted for admission to postgraduate courses offered by the colleges affiliated with Andhra University and Dr. BR Ambedkar University, Srikakulam.

AUCET Entrance Test is conducted through offline mode only i.e. it is a pen paper based test.

  • Total time duration to complete the test is 1 hour 30 minutes
  • The questions in the paper are of objective type multiple choice.
  • The paper is available in English language only
  • The questions are asked from the subjects such as Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Geology, Humanities & Social Sciences, and English

Marking Scheme

  • For every correct answer, students will be awarded by 1 mark
  • Candidates are free to attempt all the questions because there is no negative marking for the wrong attempt
  • No marks will be deducted or given for unattempted questions.
