Taught by experienced staff from the profession, this degree not only looks at the theories and practices of accounting and finance, but also their context in a business setting and significance within contemporary society.
You will develop the expertise you need to make an effective contribution to decision-making and problem solving, as well as the self-confidence and interpersonal skills needed to operate comfortably and effectively in the workplace.
A distinctive part of this course is the way youÕll develop as a team player. You will engage in team-based exercises that help you to understand the real issues facing organisations and how financial and accounting ideas can play a part in problem solving.
As an Accounting and Finance student youÕll have access to our unique Trading Room facility. With 12 double-screen workstations the room gives you a simulated experience of working in the fast-moving world of shares trading. You can access sophisticated analysis tools and data on worldwide financial markets.
This course can be studied over three years full-time or four years with a placement, and offers all students the opportunity to gain some industry experience or travel overseas to study abroad in one of our partner universities with our unique opportunities scheme.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students require 12 years of school education and successful completion of a school leaving certificate equivalent to UK 'A' Levels.
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma is required.
- GCSE: Grade 4/C in English and Mathematics
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Completed their high school education from recognized institution.
- Or, completed a Diploma in relevant field.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
