The application of physics to the treatment and diagnosis of medical conditions is a rapidly expanding and exciting field of study, vitally important to the detection and treatment of many medical conditions and diseases.
This BSc Physics with Medical Physics has been developed in conjunction with the University Hospital of Wales. Specialised modules are given by professional medical physicists from Cardiff UniversityÕs School of Medicine.
The course is designed to give you a thorough grounding in physics and a broad introduction to the many specialist areas of medical physics. In the final year you will carry out a research project at the University Hospital of Wales where particular fields of interest are Doppler ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, electrical impedance tomography, radiation physics and body composition measurements.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- 32-34 overall or 6,6,5 in 3 HL subjects
- Official transcripts of all the previous school, colleges or universities
English Language Requirements:
- IELTS academic: overall 6.5 minimum with 5.5 in each subskill
- TOEFL iBT: 90 overall minimum with minimum socres of 17 for writing, 17 for listening, 18 for reading and 20 for speaking
- PTE academic: 62 minimum overall with overall 59 minimum in all communicative skills
Indian Student Specific Requirements:
- Average of 75-77% in top 4 subjects (not including physical education) in Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (Class XII)
