Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science at the University of The West of England is a 4 years program.
It is an on-campus, honours program offered on a full-time basis.
This course gives students strong practical skills in the biomedical sciences, with the option to gain a year's experience with a leading employer in the UK or abroad.
BSc(Hons) Biomedical Science offers a hands-on approach to learning.
Students will get a strong grounding in modern biomedicine, and study the basic scientific core subjects and the biology of disease, alongside specialist biomedical subjects.
A variety of assessment tools are used to measure understanding and skills, including essays, reports, group tasks, and presentations.
The course is accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science.
Students will get to work with major employers in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, with opportunities for placements, internships, and volunteering.
Through the partnership with the American University of Antigua (AUA), students could go on to study medicine there.
Students could spend two pre-clinical years in Antigua, followed by two clinical years in the UK, USA, or Canada. Scholarships are available for outstanding students.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

UCAS Tariff points: 48
GCSE: Grade C/4 or above in English Language or Literature, Mathematics and Double Science, or equivalent.
A-level subjects: A minimum of an AS in a Science subject.
Baccalaureate IB: A Pass in a Higher Level Science subject.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they complete the following eligibility criteria:

Students should have a Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate (Standard XII) from boards such as CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB with 65% including grade C in at least five subjects.
Students with lower grades may be considered for entry onto a foundation degree.
Students should hold a 70% score in the English Language in Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate - Standard XII from CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/PTE or any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
