Bachelor of Arts in Product Design at the University of The West of England is a 3 years program.
It is an on-campus, honours program offered on a full-time basis.
This course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED).
Students will gain advanced skills in concept sketching and 3D form, verbal and visual communication, model making, computer-aided design (CAD) and the business of design.
If students study on the four-year sandwich course, they will have to spend a year away from the University on a work placement after Year two.
The course is project-led and taught mainly in studios. Students apply their new skills and knowledge to diverse projects that solve human-centered problems through design practice.
In this program, students will learn about human-centred design, co-design and innovative design processes, materials and manufacturing, and form and aesthetics development.
The career opportunities for the students are available in service design, graphic design, brand consultancy, user experience design, brand and retail design, design research, marketing and packaging design.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

UCAS Tariff points: 112
GCSE: Grade C/4 in English Literature or Language and Mathematics, or equivalent.
A-level subjects: A2 in Art or Design and Technology.
Baccalaureate IB: To include a pass at Higher Level in Design Technology or Visual Arts.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they complete the following eligibility criteria:

Students should have a Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate (Standard XII) from boards such as CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB with 65% including grade C in at least five subjects.
Students with lower grades may be considered for entry onto a foundation degree.
Students should hold a 70% score in the English Language in Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate - Standard XII from CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/PTE or any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
