Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Law at the University of The West of England is a 3 years program.
It is an on-campus, honours program offered on a full-time basis.
It is a flexible course that allows students to explore topical modules spanning criminal justice, penology, etc.
Students gain a solid grounding in criminological research methods and practice.
This hands-on course gives students real-world insight and helps them to develop professional abilities through community engagement and work-based learning.
Through this program, students will study both law and criminology in equal measure in the first year and then opt to major in one or the other from year two.
During the degree, students will have 12 hours of teaching with a lecturer each week.
If students study on the four-year sandwich course, they will have to spend a year away from the University on a work placement after Year two.
Students are encouraged to do a 40-week paid work placement in the UK or overseas, supported by an award-winning placement team.
This degree combination leads naturally to a career in criminal law. But depending on the specialism, students could pursue a career as a solicitor, barrister, legal adviser, or paralegal, or as a teacher, social worker, counsellor, or charity worker.
There are also opportunities with the police, prison, and court services, as well as the legal sector for students.

Academic Eligibility:

GCSE: Grade C/4 in English Literature or Language and Mathematics, or equivalent.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they complete the following eligibility criteria:

Students should have a Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate (Standard XII) from boards such as CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB with 65% including grade C in at least five subjects.
Students with lower grades may be considered for entry onto a foundation degree.
Students should hold a 70% score in the English Language in Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate - Standard XII from CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/PTE or any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
