Doctoral researchers will be capable of analysing a range of data using a range of qualitative and quantitative techniques. They will be able to explain theories underlying different approaches to social science research. Doctoral researchers are expected to participate to the fullest possible extent in the life of the Department of Marketing and the Business School.
This means attending seminars organised by the Department of Marketing and more widely in the Business School thereby helping expose doctoral researchers to new ideas emanating from outside their own area of specialisation. It also requires actively participating in PhD workshops and conferences organised by the Department of Marketing, the Business School and Graduate School as well as institutions outside the University of Birmingham.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Requirements:

A good 2:1 honors degree or an equivalent qualification
Applicants should hold a Masters qualification at merit level or above
Any academic and professional qualifications or professional experience will be taken into account

English Language Requirements:

IELTS: minimum 6.5 with minimum 6.0 in each band
TOEFL: minimum 88 with 21 in reading; 21 in listening; 21 in writing and 22 in speaking
PTE: 59 in all four skills
Cambridge English: minimum 176 with 169 in each subskill

Indian Student Specific Requirements:

Applicants should hold a bachelors degree with a completed masters degree
Minimum 60% required from a recognized university
