It was the highest-ranked for my course in the UK and it seemed like the perfect blend of city + country. It had enough attractions to keep me busy but not too many for me to get distracted.
Course Curriculum
It's a fairly new course and it's very interesting to study as it involves a lot of the first-hand experience in the financial sector i.e. using the Bloomberg terminal, analyzing the findings of an investment bank, etc.
Faculty
Faculty ratio is 1:5 John Smith (Head of accounting and finance in Leeds) has had a significant impact on me in my learning of the financial sector.
Placement
The placement process is a very difficult process but Leeds has made it much easier by organizing Job fairs and many employment opportunities throughout the year. The Alumni department is very well connected and many students of ours have worked in notable companies such as Santander, HSBC, Proctor, and Gamble, PWC, KPMG, Citibank, etc.
Accommodation
I live off-campus. the average rental is between POUND 100-150 a week. I'm paying POUND 146 a week. Most university accommodations offer an ensuite room but you have to share the kitchen and common area with 5-6 other people.
Exams
For Leeds, I had to write up a personal statement about my course choice and why I want to study it and how am I the best candidate for it.
Events
There are lots of societies in Leeds which excite me and which I'm part of. Indian Student Association, Cricket Club in Leeds, LUBS (Leeds university business school) club. Very diverse and engaging clubs.
