Soumaya Mittal Review at University Of Warwick, Coventry | Collegedunia

My college experience so far for the past one year has been a rollercoaster, with so much of the new formatting and curriculum, it was difficult to adapt to due to the transition from high school to university. But I had a lot of fun with societies, elections, events, new friends with different backgrounds was all so exciting, and I do not regret my decision to Warwick one bit.

Frankly Speaking, Warwick University was not an option for me at all, but when I went into more research with regard to my course and the business school I took my decision from Theron as I knew the degree here would be valued most for the course I chose to do. I had also heard well of the social environment and was really excited to see and meet people who come from different cultural backgrounds and have a common grounds of pursuing the same degree with me. I chose Warwick for future purposes and ever since I have stepped onto the campus, I have not regretted it one bit, it has been the best year of my life so far.

Course Curriculum :

The course is pretty great and Warwick is know for its business school globally. One good thing about the school is that it allows me to expand to different schools and choose modules outside of the business subject such as law, psychology or even a subject.

Exams :

I had to do my application through UCAS. Also was told to take the IELTS (score-8.5) and had to meet a conditional offer of 90% in my final exams.

Placement :

The opportunities and competition go hand in hand. It's so huge and there are endless posts that are brought about through career fairs, business school talks and also virtual events with companies like PwC, KPMG. Societies even offer the chance to attend meetings at the Shard, London. The careers plus at Warwick WBS has really helped me put through with my CV and cover letter and help segregate the industries I want to apply to and where I could possibly find my potential.

Events :

Campus life is full of fervour and so full of life with so many things to do. Even during COVID-19, they have organised fun activities for everyone. There's always so many events and Warwick signature events such as POP, circling , school days, as well as interactive events such as Debates MUN. I am personally part of 4 societies and the exec for two of them, which would be the Bollywood dance Society as well as Warwick Enactus.

Scholarship :

Yes I have received scholarships from high school of securing 1st Rank for the examinations in 11th and 12th, the amount was of 4000 AED. Furthermore I received a 25% scholarship from Loughborough and Durham University.

Faculty :

So if you are to consider business under social sciences, the faculty is spread out with different schools and considering the high no.of applicants for the business school, I'd say the student ratio is pretty high but is managed pretty well across all departments. Moreover, the faculty in the business school are so approachable and are always ready to help, and made it very easy to get my points and queries through when it comes to academics or application process.

Hostel :

I did live on campus in my first year, and completely loved the infrastructure, it's kitchens were a very social environment and made some of the best friends in that space. I had an ensue and a room of my own which gave me a balance between personal and social life, and to take the breaks I needed once in a while.
