Abhimanyu Divakar Review at University Of Dundee, Dundee | Collegedunia

Being a Biomedical Student here

AD
7.2 /10

The University of Dundee is one of the top universities to learn Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Science, etc due to its multi-million-pound facilities and supportive and encouraging faculty. Dundee is also the sunniest city in Scotland, so if you spend enough time outside you won't be running short of that precious Vitamin D.

Course Curriculum :

The Biomedical Engineering department comes under the department of Science and Engineering, it is one of the most advanced departments in the university. The course requires you to do a research project based on ongoing research at the university. The subjects to study are relevant to the goal and will help one in the future.

Exams :

The marks that you need to achieve to study Master's degree at the University of Dundee or anywhere in the UK without any hassle is 65%. You need not attend any English Language proficiency test such as IELTS, If you could show proof that you studied in an English medium school (CBSE, ICSE etc.). If the university you apply to requires you to write an IELTS, then the basic score you need to achieve is 6 out of 9 in all tests. I took an IELTS test back in 2017 and I got a total of 7 band score and I did not have to use that test score since I showed proof that I studied in an English medium school (CBSE).

Placement :

Once the post-study work scheme comes into existence, it will be useful for students who are thinking to come to the UK, as they have time to move from Dundee to the bigger cities. The students who came before this are really not lucky as they did not have time and many of them had to leave without a job due to less time.

Internship :

I did not attend any internships.

Events :

There are a lot of clubs and fun activities around the university campus and it is fun to attend almost all of them. There are country-specific clubs that promote finding friends from your own native country. There is an awesome and resourceful library, there is a gym and swimming pool, and tennis courts and you get high-speed wifi all around the campus.

Fees :

When I started the tuition fee was 19500 GBP.

Scholarship :

I got Global Excellence Scholarship which is 5000 GBP from my tuition fees and it is really important that I got it, because when tuition fees are very high, the such scholarship will help to reduce the load on your shoulders. I just had to submit a specific essay for the scholarship and I can tell you it is well worth the work.

Faculty :

The faculty was extremely helpful, they encouraged me to study before the exam and relax after the exam. They give you the personal attention without hesitation if you need them on specific subjects.

Hostel :

It is better to live off the university campus as university accommodation can be expensive for many people. There are lots of rental properties around Dundee that are affordable, which you can try and see before booking.
