Economic problems are often addressed using mathematical models. The aim of this module is to provide students with training in the mathematical skills which are an essential part of the economist’s toolkit, and which are needed to successfully complete further modules in Economics. Topics covered include linear and nonlinear equations, the mathematics of finance, differentiation and partial differentiation.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Students need to complete a foundation course before they begin to study at a UK undergraduate level. Universities accept qualifications from a wide range of institutions, including Lancaster's own International Foundation Year and courses offered by partners overseas.
