The Hinrich Global Trade Leader Program, funded by the philanthropic Hinrich Foundation, awards 150 scholarships to eligible students from 10 Asian Countries to pursue a university degree and kick-start a promising career in specified trade. The Hinrich full tuition fee waiver for MA in International Journalism is awarded to the students of the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU).

Eligibility Criteria

Firstly, to be eligible for the scholarship, students are supposed to take admissions at the Hong Kong Baptist University. Candidates are also required to meet the eligibility criteria as defined by the Hinrich Foundation to avail the scholarship:

Should be either a citizen of Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia or India.
Should have 5+ years of working experience.
Must have acquired at least an undergraduate degree in either marketing, business, journalism, social sciences, or any other related field.
Should be proficient in English with a valid test score in support of such proficiency. Acceptable English proficiency test scores are:
- TOEFL (iBT): 79
- IELTS 6.5
Must showcase strong communication & teamwork skills as well as leadership ability.

Selection Process

exhibit a strong interest in working in trade-related sectors; and,
agree to engage with the Hinrich Foundation post completion of the degree for mentorship as well as membership in the foundation’s Alumni Association;

are given preference during the selection process of the Hinrich Full Scholarship for MAIJS in HKBU.
