V.V. Giri Global Excellence Scholarship

Funded by University College Dublin (UCD), V.V. Giri Global Excellence Scholarship is awarded to international students. The scholarship is applicable for UG and PG programs at UCD. The award encourages the students to apply early for their desired program.

V.V. Giri Global Scholarship is a 100% tuition fee waiver award program
The University College Dublin offers this scholarship to students from 11 countries.
- Including India, Pakistan, Australia, Nepal.
Selections are based on the academic merit of the eligible students.
The deadline for this scholarship has expired, and a new date is yet to come.
V.V. Giri Global Excellence Scholarship will be automatically renewed for the duration of the chosen program.
- Recipients must maintain a Stage GPA of 3.08/4.20.

V.V. Giri Global Excellence Scholarship program offers international students to study in Ireland at a minimal cost. Since their tuition fees will be covered under the scholarship, all they will have to pay for is their cost of living and travel in Ireland.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the V.V. Giri Global Excellence Scholarship, applicants are expected to fulfill the eligibility requirements given below:

Classified as an international student (non-EU) for tuition fee and application purposes.
- Should be a self-funding student.
- Must belong to eligible country
Applied for a full-time UCD graduate-taught or undergraduate program.
- College of Arts and Humanities
- College of Business
- College of Engineering and Architecture
- College of Health and Agricultural Sciences
- College of Social Sciences and Law
Proof of English language proficiency through IELTS or TOEFL.
Obtained a conditional/ unconditional offer of admission to the university.

Application Process

The V.V. Giri Global Excellence Scholarship application must be submitted online through the UCD online application portal. Before applying to the program, it is mandatory for the applicants to accept their offer of admission to the University College Dublin.

Once they have accepted the offer and verified the eligibility, applicants must follow the steps given below:

Step I: Log in to the application using the unique user ID and password.
Step II: Under Applications menu page, select Scholarship Applications.
Step III: Select the V.V. Giri Global Excellence Scholarship tab.
Step IV: Answer the general questions and submit the form.

Applications for the scholarship are to be made this way only. Be it a UG student or PG student, all have to adhere to the steps mentioned above. However, the V.V. Giri Global Scholarship application deadlines vary for the UG and PG applicants:

Please note that candidates who have offers for more than one program must indicate the program for which they would like to apply for the scholarship.

Selection Process

The UCD’s scholarship selection committee will evaluate each candidate’s V.V. Giri Global Excellence Scholarship Application. Scholarship decision is based primarily on the academic merit of the candidates.

A holistic review of the scholarship application will be taken into consideration.
- Scores of the exams to study in Ireland
- Completion of application on time
- Reference and statements
A face-to-face or virtual interview of the candidate with a Scholarship Committee member is conducted before the final decision is taken.

Recipients of the V.V. Giri Global Excellence Scholarship will be notified within 2 to 4 weeks. Students must accept their scholarship offer within the timeframe indicated in the letter/email. Failing to do so will be considered as declining the scholarship.
