UWaterloo Graduate Entrance Scholarship

UWaterloo Graduate Entrance Scholarship is presented by the University of Waterloo for full-time students. The students who have secured 90% or above marks in the selected tax courses in the UG program at the University of Waterloo are eligible.

  • Students must be enrolled in a Master of taxation program at the University of Waterloo.
  • Both domestic and international students are eligible for the scholarship.
  • A separate application form is not required to be considered for the same.
  • Up to four Graduate Entrance Scholarships are awarded each year.
  • Scholarship amount worth 50% of the first term's tuition fee will be offered to the recipients.
  • Deadline is yet to be announced.

The maximum amount that can be awarded is 3,500 USD that can be used against payment of tuition fees for the first term of study at the University of Waterloo.

Eligibility Criteria

Prospective applications must secure admission at the University of Waterloo to be eligible for the UWaterloo Graduate Entrance Scholarship.

Along with this, applicants must meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below:

  • Must be a Canadian citizen or International student with a study permit.
  • Must have secured 90% or above marks in the selected tax courses in UG program
  • Must have completed a four-year honors UG degree within the past five school years.
  • Must have completed two advanced-level tax courses while doing the UG course.
    • The advanced level tax courses are third-year personal tax courses and fourth-year corporate tax courses which are recognized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO) as qualifying for their 51 credit-hour requirements.
  • Must have completed the courses as a part of their undergraduate degree requirements.
    • The course must be half-credit courses of 12 weeks and must be a classroom learning course.

Application Process

Students enrolled in the Master of Tax program at the University of Waterloo are eligible to enjoy the benefits of the UWaterloo Graduate Entrance Scholarship.

No external application form is required for the scholarship, eligible students will be automatically considered by the Department of taxation at the faculty of Arts at the University of Waterloo.


Selection Process

The selection of the recipients will be done by a panel of selectors at the respective department. Students will be evaluated based on their academic performance and response in the admission application form.

Four selected students will be awarded the scholarship worth 3,500 USD that covers tuition fees for the first term of the study at the University of Waterloo.


Grant Details

Students who wish to pursue higher education in Canada at the University of Waterloo may secure benefits of the UWaterloo Graduate Entrance Scholarship.

However, this scholarship is only applicable to the Master of Taxation program at the university.

Applicants must have scored a 90% or above-average mark in selected tax courses in UG program at any participating university.
