Archibald Waynne Dingman Memorial Scholarship

The Archibald Wayne Dingman Memorial Scholarship is offered by the University of Calgary to continuing UG students.

  • Students in any faculty entering the third or fourth year of the UG program at the University of Calgary are eligible for the scholarship.
  • Preference will be given to those who want to pursue a vocation in the petroleum industry.
  • The scholarship amount of 1850 CAD is offered to three deserving students.
  • Selections are based on the academic merit of the students.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for Archibald Wayne Dingman Memorial Scholarship, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must entering 3rd/4th year of the degree at the University of Calgary
  • Intend to pursue a vocation in the Petroleum Industry 
  • Completion of a minimum of 24 units of academic course work along with minimum GPA of 3.2

Application Process

Students who want to secure Archibald Wayne Dingman Memorial Scholarship have to apply online for the scholarship. The step-by-step process to apply for the scholarship is mentioned below :

Step I: Access Student Centre in myUofC portal available at the University of Calgary Official website.

Step II: In the Student Centre section, click on the "My Financials" page.

Step III: Click on the Awards & Scholarships section, and click on "Apply for Undergraduate Award"s.

Step IV: A pop-up window will open on the screen with a number of applications for the different scholarships. Apply for Archibald Wayne Dingman Memorial Scholarship.

Step V: Complete all the details required and supporting documents, and submit it.

Applicants must submit scholarship applications before May  01, 2023, to be considered for the selection.

This award is merit and financial-based so, the financial need should be clearly demonstrated on the application.


Selection Process

The University of Calgary grants 3 scholarships to the students on the merit-basis and their GPA in undergraduate.

Applications will be reviewed by a selection panel of the University of Calgary. The selection will be based on the following factors:

  1. Academic Merit
  2. Financial Need

Additionally, preference will be given to those who want to pursue a vocation in the petroleum industry can also increase their chances by demonstrating or mentioning the same in their application.

After evaluating students on the above-mentioned factors Archibald Waynne Dingman Memorial Scholarship is offered to three selected students.


Grant Details

Archibald Waynne Dingman Memorial Scholarship is offered to meritorious students at the University of Calgary. Students entering 3rd and 4th year of UG degree are eligible.

  • A separate application form has to complete by the students.
  • Every year, 3 students are shortlisted for the scholarship on a merit basis.
  • The amount of this scholarship provided to students is up to 1, 850
  • CAD.
