Ayush Saini's Review On Banaras Hindu University - [BHU], Varanasi | collegedunia.com

A underrated college you should know

Remarks :

After my class 12th examination I started preparing for cuet ( common university entrance test) and I have filled up the form for BHU and DU because these are all-time favorites of everyone to study there. So next I got around 690-700 marks in cuet and in du, I was not getting my dream college so I opt to go for BHU as it's also a very nice university so for this I got selected in bhu main campus and admission process is so easy. Eligibility, of course, you have studied commerce in class 12 and if you get good numbers in cuet you are eligible. Application forms open at the time of boards this year for cuet, you can apply as well and you have to also apply for bhu on their website. Ye some improvement I would say in contacting them after admission they didn't give any email when to come, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course because I wanted to do CA and B.com hons is the best course for CA I think so. Yeah, so faculty to student ratio is also nice as around 15-20 professors are in the commerce faculty and all are very nice and student-friendly. The qualification of teachers is half are assistant professors and half are professors who both are very perfect in their subjects and you will be easily guided through your course. Teachers' methods are all different some bit strict some are friendly.

Internships Opportunities :

There is an internship named Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan which offered a stipend of 20k per month which is nice. And there are plenty of projects you will be offered. As teachers are also engaged in projects and make them more interesting.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees are too nominal for B.com hons in the main campus as the total course fee of 3 years is 12000. But if you get into another affiliated college you will observe high fees. There are government scholarships.

Campus Life :

Our annual fest name is kashiyatra and it's a very big fest at our university many tech fests are organized in BHU and anyone can go there if you are studying at BHU annual fest is conducted last Jan this year. And normal fest organized all over the year. You will get every book and journal at BHU main gate Lanka gate there are many shops for stationery. The classroom is well furnished with tiles nice wooden benches, clean toilets, etc. Yeah, so there are many grounds in the name of faculties like Birla, broach, etc. and you can play every game that you want Yeah, I have a small group of friends and there is a group name Nirvana which is opened by commerce students for clubbing parties and extracurricular activities.

The student can get placed after the 4th semester and is also eligible for a pre-placement offer. Good companies such as wipro come here. The highest package is around 2.5Lpa. Around 70% of students get placed every year.

B.com has a wide range of scope in future. Dav has a fair faculty-student ratio of about 1:40. The faculty of DAV is highly qualified and has good teaching experience. semester exams were held timely and well managed and not so difficult to pass if one has prepared enough for it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I was curious about management studies and I wanted to study Commerce and learn its practical application. Secondly, I was having commerce in my class 12. In the future Goal is to secure the 90+ percentile in CAT and avail a good college for MBA. The course faculty is good and well-qualified. With 10+ years of teaching experience and few scholars guide us in our study through career guidance and mutual help. Our 1st year was a bit fast, because of corona admission process was delayed. But that gap was covered by conducting two semesters of exams within 8 months. There are (approx.) 1:15 faculty Professor/teaching staff over the student.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Coming from a commerce background I chose this course. There are approx 500 Students enrolled in a year and 30 faculty members are available. Apparently, all of the teachers are Ph.D. holders but sometimes send their interns for teaching. The exams are held every semester and are not so difficult to pass.
