Amarjeet Singh's Review On Banaras Hindu University - [BHU], Varanasi | collegedunia.com

Up to the mark

Remarks :

The eligibility is for anyone who has passed the 12th exam and is required different minimum percentages for general it is 55%, for OBC 50%, and for sc/st 45%. You can apply through cuet and this year the form fee is around 700 and you can fill your form up to 30th March. Ews, OBC, and Sc/St category students got benefitted through reservation.

Course Curriculum Overview :

As I am a UPSC aspirant therefore BA Hons. provided me with those subjects which will help me in my preparation. In my faculty, the total number of students is around 550. The professors which are teaching us are highly experienced in their teaching career as they have done Ph.D. and some teachers have experienced up to 20+ years.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, there are many opportunities for internships in our college. A company such as Amazon, Flipkart, and Wipro do come to our college and offer good internships. The average stipend offered is around 10000. If the students are eager then the banks also offer internships of 15 days.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The course fee of BA Hons. is around 2000 per year with a 500 per semester examination fee. I got a UP government scholarship. We also got some companies that came and hire students for their internship programs.

Campus Life :

We celebrate foundation day on Vasant Panchami as well as the Spandan, intra-University festival, and competition in February and March, and in IIT, we got to see Kashi yatra in January in which we get to learn the modern culture and various tech inventions. In BHU, there are two libraries, one is central and the other is cyber.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course as I want to build a career in Literature and the University is quite reputed and has a good ranking. The faculty-student ratio is not adequate. It's 1:60 on average with some streams exceeding 70 students per teacher. The faculty has one good quality in common, they are all interested in teaching and good with it. The one quality that would have lighted it up as if they put in more effort to create an environment of learning and not provide just exam-centred structures. They are qualified teachers although these few years a lack of professors has made our college allow assistant professors to take up classes which is not the most amazing experience.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Because I am interested in subjects like history geography economics English Etc. I am not sure maybe it's about around 500. The teaching methods are really good I love how teachers explain briefly every topic. Just because of corona our examination was held after every 3 months that's was difficult to prepare 6 months syllabus in 3 months but we did it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course and opted for Hindi literature as my hons. I thought that this could help in the preparation for CSE. The faculty is good all the faculty have either done their MA/Ph.D. from BHU itself and their teaching pedagogy is quite commendable. The strength of my course is around 150 students have opted for their Hindi literature as hons. In my College 6 semester, a total of 3 years of courses and passing the exam is liberal no difficulty I have faced till now.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course due to my interest in papers on social sciences from school times especially History, Economy and Geography. Along with that, it was beneficial for my future plan as I aspire to become an IAS officer and the subjects of social science comprise a vast part of its syllabus. The faculty ratio was about 1:60 and in some cases slightly higher depending upon the preference of language of instruction. The faculty here is one of the best among all Indian universities and they are highly knowledgeable and experienced. They know how to groom new students according to future plans and to give a better understanding of their syllabus too. One of the most positive things about BHU is its examination system. Term-end exams are very timely and results are also published on time. Exams are conducted in a good and fair environment. Passing examinations are not difficult if you are regularly studying the syllabus in classes. You can get high grades by having preparations.
