Mamta Yadav's Review On St Teresa's College (Autonomous), Ernakulam | collegedunia.com

St Teresa College, Ernakulam

Remarks :

Eligibility for bcom self-finance is 12th pass. They make a merit list based on which u will get a call. You need to first fill out the application form from their official website. There are few reservations and even through donations some of my friends got in.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Bcom has the much higher scope and wider opportunities so I chose to change my stream from science to comm. The faculty here is really supportive trust me on that. The medium of teaching is Malayalam which was difficult for me to understand. Talking about exams we have 2 mid sem and 1 end sem exam every sem along with assignments for every subject.

Internships Opportunities :

Internship opportunities are abundant though time may be a limited factor. From the first yr onwards you will get many opportunities from outside college but 1st year is really going to be busy with everything going on.

Placement Experience :

I have not completed the course but what I hear from seniors is it is best to work for a year or two before u go for MBA or higher studies if u still wish to support your family early there r on-campus placements too in the 3rd year.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

1st sem fees along with admission fees for me was 65000 while for some of my friends were 1lakh including donation. The fees for bcom regular are around 5-10k with a cut-off going 97%+. There are scholarships for Muslim girls and st sc which u can find on their website.

Campus Life :

I love it here. Period. There is a lot of freedom, not many restrictions on clothing as long as it is decent, and teachers are fun too. There are various clubs like dance, music, NCC, NSS, entrepreneur, fashion, etc. We have an annual sports day and fests too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course as I was interested to build a career in Commerce and Finance. There are not many knowledgeable faculty. Everyone seems like using very old methods. Teaching methods: It's just the same as it was 50 years before. Nothing has changed. If you ask the faculty any doubts, they will reply to Google..! Exams are very easy to pass- especially the internals as I was in the good book of the staff. So I did not have any issues with the internal exams. If you are in the bad book, you need to struggle to pass University exams as you will not have enough marks for the internal exams.

Teaching is done through using teaching methods and other using other technologies like projectors etc. Exams are conducted every 6 months in between the 3 years.

The academic is good and all teachers are very good. excellent teaching process. Sem-wise exams total 6 semester It is easy to pass with 35 or 40 % marks. bit creditable pass with marks 60% may be difficult.

VERIFIED REVIEW Posted on 11 Jan' 23 by Vatsalya Kumar Mishra A batch of 2025 | B.Tech Computer Engineering College Infrastructure The clg has all the necessary equipment and facilities. SPS and Pragya Bhawan have AC installed in them. The library is excellent, charging port is there. The sports ground is awesome. One large cricket ground and one large football ground. Indoor hall for TT, badminton, and chess. New hostels are good but very expensive. The food is not that good tbh. Only Mic Mac and Nescafe have good food. Main Canteen is the worst. Wifi network works ok ok. Speed is medium. Academics I'm studying computer Engineering to get placed. 8 out of 10 teachers don't know how to teach, they just read ppt, while some are great and focus on concepts and visualization.

Campus placements are here in this college. On 5 semesters and 6 semesters onwards. Many reputed companies come here every year. Some of them are Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Yamaha, etc. But only some of the students are placed through campus placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main reason why I choose this course was the jobs that it can provide and my interest in accounting. I also want to be a businessman, so it may also have affected the decision I took. The faculty of the college contains about 80 teaching staff and 30 non-teaching staff. There are about 2000-3000 students in the college. Most of the faculty is experienced. Some have experience of more than 25 years. There are also staffs who have acquired PhD in their respective fields. The teaching method is fairly traditional. The time of the term exams is controlled by the University of Calicut and not by the college. The difficulty of the exams is medium
