Mecca of Ops || NITIE Mumbai

Remarks :

Eligibility for the course was a bachelor's degree of 4 years. The admissions form was available on the official website of Nitie. Application fees were Rs1000 and the dates were late march. The admission portal did not get any confirmation after fee payment, this was reported to the college admission team and this year this has been corrected.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Having work experience in operations management and project management at JSW, I was looking forward to broadening my scope in other domains along with expertise in the domain. Faculty to student ratio is 1:60. Most of the faculty have Ph.D. and Double PhDs. There are trimesters for each year and each trimester has a mid-term and final term. The difficulty level is moderate.

Internships Opportunities :

The internships are offered by the top companies of the world in every kind of domain, right from consulting, operations, management, marketing, general and product, management, program, management, and all kind of roles offered in all dear one colleges of India. Interns are provided with live projects in these organizations which broadens their view about the industry and the project a way in which helps them gain skills that are required in the industry and become industry ready by the end of the internship.

Placement Experience :

The summer internship process starts at the end of the first semester. The internship takes place after 3rd sem. Details of companies are provided in the placement report on the official website of Nitie. The highest package and the average package details are mentioned in the same report along with the mean and median package. 100% percent of students gate pleased with the word before even the process completes. My plan is to currently work in an organization in which I would be pleased and get insights about though industry and a deeper knowledge of the domain so that I can then decide the course of action appropriate for my career.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees for the course are nominal and the hostel fee is very nominal as well in a city like Mumbai. Living cost is manageable as well due to low mess fees. There are multiple scholarships by the college alumni for people good in sports, EWS, girl education, SC/ST, and academic excellence. College also provides stipends to students of PGDIE.

Campus Life :

The name of the annual fest is AVARTAN and is a whole week's fest where the whole college indulges in cultural and sports events and chills out in this hectic schedule. The library of the institute is top-notch and provides all basic amenities along with monthly and annual subscriptions to newspapers and business journals. Also, we are provided with a database for research purposes. Classrooms have amenities like AC, projectors and smart class setups is there. There are a lot of social groups and societies catering to your interests right from sports to culture, to sustainability, to entrepreneurship, to event management to marketing to finance, and many more.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostels are having double sharing rooms. Rooms are good with proper lights, beds, table and chair and cupboards. The Wi-Fi connectivity is provided along with the land but the network quality is sometimes not good. The registration process for the hostel is right after your admission and the hostel is affordable. The quality of food being provided in the mess is good and has a lot of variety.
