Remarks :
I was admitted through JEE Mains examination, where I got an All India Rank of 11198. As all the colleges in Delhi have 85% reservation for the candidates that are passed out from Delhi schools, I could get into IIIT Delhi's Computer Science and Applied mathematics branch, whose cutoff was 12K. The admission process of IIIT Delhi takes place through Joint Admission Council(JAC) Delhi along with DTU and NSUT. I appeared for JEE Mains in 2020, and the counseling process for admission started in September 2020 that ran till November. All the admission details and cutoffs are listed on JAC Delhi's and IIITD's websites. My overall experience with the admission process was great.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The overall curriculum is much better than other colleges as it gets updated every year, and students are free to choose courses of their choice in the 3rd and 4th years. The student-faculty ratio is around 1:120, and the faculties are also very experienced in their fields. Most of the faculties hold Ph.D. Degree. The exams here are a bit tough, but as IIIT Delhi has distributed evaluations throughout the semester, it doesn't affect the student's overall grade. I chose this course as I wanted to study computer science.
Internships Opportunities :
A decent number of companies like Google, Microsoft, Salesforce, and Oracle visit campus for internships with an offered stipend of 80K, 1L, 1L, and 80K, respectively. Around 150 students were given internship offers.
Placement Experience :
The placements at IIITD are very good. 100+ companies visit annually for placements, and the average package in 2022 was 20.86 Lakhs. Some of the companies that visit IIITD are Google, Microsoft, Oracle, and Salesforce, etc. 500+ offers were made in 2022 by their companies. The highest package for overseas was 183.94 LPA, and for Indians was 47 LPA for SDE1. College overall percentage of students getting placed is 98.10%. My plan after getting my degree is to work for an MNC for 3-4 years.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee here is very high compared to other Tier 1 colleges like IIT, NIT, and other IIITs. However, various scholarships are also provided by the Delhi government and the college to students from financially weaker families. The criteria are about families with income less than eight lakhs getting 25% scholarship. Many job opportunities are available in the college as many companies visit the campus for internships and full-time every year. Apart from this, there are many startups also available in college that also hire people for internships.
Campus Life :
IIITD has its annual cultural fest, "ODYSSEY", which takes place in January every year; it also has its tech fest ", ESSYA", which is organized in August. IIITD also has a huge library with almost every book and journal, along with space for students to study. IIIITD's classrooms are very well maintained, and all have AC facilities. As IIITD has a high workload, students don't get much involved in sports, clubs or other social groups, though IIITD still has decent extracurricular activities going on the whole year. Some of the clubs in IIITD are Machaan, Google developer students club, Madtoes, Foobar etc.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostels of IIITD are very well maintained; they all have AC facilities, an almirah, tables, a chair, beds, and study lights. IIITD has two different messes with the same menu, but the food in both messes is pretty average but better than other colleges' messes. Hostels in IIITD are only provided to outside Delhi students or students whose distance to college is greater than 30 KM.
