Remarks :
You have to take the XAT exam and then you get calls for PIs (depending on whether you clear that year's cutoff). Post that you take the interview and are told whether you have made it. There is no reservation in XLRI as it is a private college but academic and gender diversity points exist (however, that is also unknown).
Course Curriculum Overview :
Good placements and learning experience. The faculty-student ratio is pretty good. The teaching is decent, however, the cherry on top really is, is peer learning. It is not very difficult to pass but MBA as a course is definitely quite hectic because along with academics, you have a lot of events throughout the year. XL is a student-run campus, so from the food we eat to the internet on campus, is all managed by student teams in association with the administration, so people are always busy.
Internships Opportunities :
It is not possible to name all companies and all roles but some of the top companies that come to campus are Mckinsey, Bain, BCG, Microsoft, Google, Coke, etc. These companies generally provide national-level or regional problems and the internships are an amazing experience in terms of learning.
Placement Experience :
Placements are pretty good at XL. 200+ companies come to campus on average. The PPO rate is 35%+ for the past couple of years. The average package is more than 30 lakh. I plan to work after my college gets over.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees increases almost every year, however, the placement figures also generally improve. There are a couple of companies that offer scholarships. I got placed at Asian Paints and my stipend was Rs 1.3 Lakh pm.
Campus Life :
There are around 27 committees (formal and informal). The college fest, Ensemble Valhalla, is the biggest event on campus and is known to be graced by the biggest names of entertainment, business and social sphere on campus. All committees come together to create EV. There are numerous sports and the infrastructure is pretty good. Some of the college clubs include Placement Council, CAS (Academic Committee), EV, etc.
Hostel Facilities :
The rooms are spacious and clean. Meals are better compared to engineering but at the same time, it is slightly steep. You have to take a room on campus. You cannot take a PG outside the campus. Registration is done during college admission itself.
Interview Experience :
I faced PI. For PIs, you mostly (As a fresher) need to know about your subjects, and your alma mater well. You need to have a reason and clarity on why you want to do an MBA. I revised my engineering courses and just worked on behavioral questions and was just honest to the panel on what are the things I have done in life and what I plan to do and how.
