NIT Jalandhar has an extensive coding environment and almost every student irrespective of their branch wants to learn to code. It also has some amazing clubs like DSC-NIT to help you recognize your interests in coding and other fields like Cloud Computing, Web Development, Android Development & Machine learning.
At NITJ, you will learn coding in your first year only as a part of your 1st-year course curriculum as CP (Computer Programming).
As far as the ICE branch is concerned, it’s the most coveted branch. So if you have joined it you are very lucky. The best part about this branch is its Data Structures & Algorithms course. It is a completely technical course that teaches the most important aspects of coding.

The institutes NSIT as well as DTU both are tier 1 colleges and among the best engineering colleges of India. Hence, it is quite difficult to say which one is best among MCE at DTU and ICE at NSIT. ICE branch provides opportunities to students in both Hardware and Software whereas MCE is more aligned towards software industries. The students from MCE have ample opportunities in either finance or pure mathematics and programming. The packages that the students get at MCE in DTU is similar to that of ICE at NSIT.
Instrumentation and Control Engineering in NSIT is an older branch than Mathematics and Computing Engineering in DTU. As far as placement of these branches is concerned almost all Tech companies allow both ICE and MCE students to take part in their internship and placement test with a required percentage criteria but that depends upon company to company.
Placement at NSIT is quite good, more than 100 companies visit the campus for placement drive. The average salary offered is around 7-8 LPA. The 2019 placement highlights for DTU show a total of 70 students got placed from the MCE department, whereas the no of offers received was 93. The highest CTC offered to the students of this branch was around 39 LPA.
The coding environment in DTU is great. The co-curricular activities of both the colleges are brilliant as a large no of societies are available for students to pursue their interests and enhance their skills. So, choose the institute based on your subject of choice.

The department of instrumentation and electronics is one of the finest and was the first to offer a degree in instrumentation technology. With high endowments, funding, and collaborative research, this department is perfect for anyone who would like to go forward with instrumentation technology. Regardless of the merits and demerits, it's recommended that students follow their choice of interest.
NIT Jalandhar for Instrumentation and Control is unquestionably superior to NIT Jalandhar for Civil. There are several points that indicate the same thing. Nearly 90% to 100% of placements are available in the ICE branch. Students of the ICE branch have a chance to get into IT companies which will not happen in Civil.
Furthermore, the faculty at ICE is far superior to that of Civil. Ultimately, you should pursue your interests. Nevertheless, if you're considering Civil, you should be exceptionally enthusiastic about it.
If you are genuinely interested in ECE then you should opt for MAIT. Although from the viewpoint of future prospects, NIT ICE is far better than MAIT ECE.
