How is the executive MBA from XLRI?
The 1-year PGDM(GM)/GMP program offered by XLRI is one of the best MBA programs in the country. The duration of the program is 15 months out of which you will have to spend 12 months on campus.
- The curriculum is similar to that of the 2-year long program. You will also have the same faculty. XLRI has one of the best faculty bases in the country.
- You will get to be a part of the XL mafia, i.e. the extensive network of XL alums. They are recruited in top positions of many reputed MNCs. There are also a significant number of successful entrepreneurs. Such a vast alumni network definitely has its own advantages.
- Since 5-year work experience is the least requirement, you will have peers from Marine Logistics to NGOs. As the curriculum is case-based, you will have the opportunity to discuss many cases with your peers from different backgrounds.
- You will get to experience the overall XL culture. There are ample opportunities to interact with the students from BM/HR programs. These are one of the top MBA programs in the country.

What is the value for part time PGDM in NMIMS Mumbai?
Most part-time courses carry no real value other than adding the post-graduate tag. They have no worth in the corporate world irrespective of whichever reputed college you have chosen. NMIMS is one of the top reputed B Schools in India and has a big brand name.
- The faculty is extremely talented and experienced
- The placement scenario is pretty good except that part-time courses have no fixed statistics.
- The fees are relatively high when compared to other B Schools of the same league
- The curriculum is very rigorous and requires constant attendance and involvement. Being a part-time PGDM, you are probably a working professional and it becomes very difficult to balance work with studies.
- The curriculum required you to submit assignments and give frequent exams. This might be difficult for working people.
- Unfortunately there is quite a level of distinction between full-time PGDM students and part-time PGDM students as the former get the most attention from teachers.
- The curriculum is rushed in order to get completed within 21 months imparting no real learning
I know a friend who chose NMIMS Executive MBA and paid hefty fees just for the brand name instead of doing the same course at a less popular B School. She regretted her decision and claimed the program to be a total waste of money and time. She said she could have done the same from another B School at half the cost. So part-time MBA itself is not that worthless, but paying a hefty sum merely for the brand name and postgraduate tag is illogical. You can do the same program at a much lesser cost than other B Schools.
How is the placement for executive PGDM from Alliance University?
The placements are very poor for PGDM at Alliance University and one should do proper research and get some reviews before taking up this course. You should consider your benefits for the long term also.

- The faculty of this university for this course is very poor and doesn't offer proper support to its students.
- The course curriculum is not that great and is very outdated when compared to other popular colleges offering the same course.

- Companies don't treat the employees as nicely, so if you're planning to do PGDM, try doing it from any other top universities where you will get much respect and recognition which you truly deserve.
During admissions, they will surely promise great placements in top companies and will tell you a lot of good things about their college and environment, but they will be just fooling you around.
How good is IMI Delhi 'executive PGDM' compared to other 1 year exe-MBA courses in India?
IMI Delhi Executive PGDM is a very good choice if you are on the lookout for improving your learning caliber and climbing the corporate ladder higher. It is most suitable for working professionals who join on a sabbatical and don’t leave their jobs to pursue this program.
The faculty is highly experienced and will guide you throughout the program. The placement for their flagship course is better than the executive course. They falsely claim to offer lateral placement support. If you are joining the program be prepared for no general increase in salary or placements. Join the program only if your primary purpose is to learn. Less than half of the students get placed in this program too with below-average packages. If you are ready to face it with a positive mindset, then only opt for this program.
