Shall I go for PGDBM from NMIMS, or shall I go for PGCBM from XLRI, Jamshedpur? Please feel free to advice any other course, apart from these two related to EMBA. I have 5 plus years of experience.

XLRI has a strong reputation for Human Resource (HR) management and Industrial Relations (IR) studies. If an individual is specifically interested in HR/IR, then XLRI would be a better option compared to NMIMS (Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies). However, if you are looking for a general management program, then NMIMS would be a better choice because of its excellent peer group and rigorous curriculum.

XLRI is still a good institute for other streams, but it is more specialized in HR and IR. Similarly, NMIMS is known for its general management program, and it may not have the same level of expertise as XLRI in HR/IR.

Is Talentedge a good way to take up certificate courses equivalent to an executive MBA from IIM Raipur and XLRI?

The Talentedge platform, created by some of the finest institutions in the country, is an excellent resource for gaining knowledge in the real world through online courses for working executives. To the best of my knowledge, there are both short-term and long-term courses meticulously designed for the executive level in various domains of business acumen.

However, from my observations, most of the programs are from interdisciplinary domains and focus on current business evolutions in order to keep up with the rapidly changing world.

If you are interested in pursuing online certification courses in management and business domains, it would be highly recommended to consider two important platforms: Edx, particularly IIMBx which offers a very synergistic, creative, and practical approach to real-world insights, and SIBM Pune Online Courses. Both of these platforms have a reputation for providing high-quality education and are well-suited for working professionals looking to advance their careers.

What are the best one year full-time executive MBA courses in India? Can anyone who has done the IPMX course at IIM Lucknow share their experience?

PGPM from Indian Institute of Management Kashipur (Graduated 2018)

There are mainly 3 MBA programs in India:

  • Two Year Program in Management- Aimed at people with less than 2 years of experience
  • One Year Program in Management- Aimed at people with 2-15 years of experience
  • Part Time Program in Management- Aimed at working professionals

Before we dwell on the best one-year full-time executive MBA courses in India, let’s understand what exactly a one year program is.

The 1-year-program gained fame in India after the success of ISB in the early 2000s. IIMs and other institutes initiated the same and have been offering the 1-year program since late 2000s. This program mainly offers high-quality education for experienced professionals. Some best programs offered in India are

  1. ISB- PGP (Post Graduate Program)
  2. IIM Ahmedabad- PGPX (Post Graduate Program for Executives)
  3. IIM Bangalore- EPGP (Executive Post Graduate Program)
  4. IIM Kolkata- PGPeX (Post Graduate Program for Executives)
  5. IIM Lucknow- IPMX (International Program in Management for Executives)

The admissions happen on the basis of GMAT, Essays, and Interviews. It is primarily meant for people with several years of experience but who want to upgrade their managerial skills.

The best part is that the 1-year-program is equivalent to an MBA internationally. Infact, major international rankings such as Financial Times consider the 1-year program. So the 1-year program at the top B-Schools in India will give you a similar experience academically.

As far as the IPMX course is concerned, it is not an Executive MBA.

Masters in English (language), University of Calcutta

If you want to pursue an Executive MBA in healthcare management, there are many options in Kolkata. IIM Calcutta is one of the leading institutes offering management courses; however, executives must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for admission to IIMC:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline is required, as well as more than 5 years of post-qualification managerial/professional experience.
  • When selecting a candidate, GMAT scores, personal interviews, and work experience are all taken into account.

Also, if you want to save time and money, taking a weekend Executive MBA course from Brainware University will give you more exposure without requiring you to give up your full-time job. The classes are mostly held on weekends (2 hours per day on Saturday and Sunday). The curriculum for the EMBA course was developed in collaboration with Lincoln University College Malaysia. The best minds from both worlds have collaborated to create this globally applicable course. Candidates must be graduates from any discipline with a 50% mark or have at least five years of professional experience to be eligible.
