Yes, some of the top B-schools consider 10th and 12th marks for their admissions. The weightage given to them is low in most of the top B-schools.
You still have a shot at securing a seat in these colleges. You will be eligible for Group Discussion and Personal Interview, but the final selection will be taken on the basis of your overall capabilities and scores. Along with your academic scores, your XAT score will also be taken into consideration.
However, the admission procedure of XLRI and TISS is not based solely on the XAT score. The following shows that each component has a certain weightage in the overall evaluation of a candidate.
Selection Components |
Weightage (in percentage) |
Written Entrance Exam (Part A) |
65 |
General Knowledge |
10 |
Group Discussion/ Personal Interview |
10 |
Academic Profile/Work experience |
5 |
In the end, all these components are evaluated together and the candidates who stand out in all the components are selected. With a bit of smart work on your resume and good performances in GPA, you can cover up for bad academic performances in the past, if any.
