Which is better for CS: IIIT Delhi or NIT Kurukshetra?

Although both IIITs and NITs have a similar brand image, I advise you to keep IIIT Delhi as your first preference. Here are two solid reasons why

Better campus placements: Generally, Government colleges like IITs and NITs do not approach companies for placements like private colleges. So their placements are usually a result of their brand value and location. That being said, IIIT Delhi has an excellent location and therefore attracts many more companies than NIT Kurukshetra.
A good environment: The CS-tailored dynamic environment at IIIT Delhi helps improve your aptitude considerably. The crowd at both the colleges might be similar but IIIT Delhi definitely provides a much better exposure outside college.

So the best option for CS is certainly IIIT Delhi.

IIIT Delhi is the better option for CS. It has an excellent CS curriculum. It has a great research culture and offers plenty of opportunities to explore one’s interests. The coding culture on campus is great. There are weekly programming contests in Competitive Programming, Cyber Security, Web development, etc. IIITD has a coding club named FooBar. You will get good opportunities to improve your coding skills and algorithms.

IIIT Delhi placements have been great over the last few years. During the 2022 placement drive, students received an average CTC of INR 19.72 LPA. The highest CTC offered this year was INR 1.84 CPA.

Students are generally in a dilemma regarding choosing among these institutes. NIT Kurukshetra has a reputation that IIIT Delhi has failed to establish.

NIT enjoys the status of the institute of national importance. IIITD still has a long way to own this status because it came late. Even with this drawback, IIITD beats NIT Kurukshetra in many ways. Some of them are:

IIIT Delhi has an established image of its research-based environment which NIT KKR lacks.
IIITD has an excellent curriculum that has an edge. IIITD revised its curriculum parallel to the industry requirements.
In NIT KKR, most of the teaching staff is either contractual-based or Ph.D. scholars. The studies are not fun. IIITD is ahead in this aspect.
NIT KKR is in the small city of Kurukshetra. IIITD, situated in the capital city, which is well-connected to every place.
The campus of IIITD claims to be "state of the art" with cutting-edge technology. The campus is comparatively smaller than NIT KKR, which is old and beautiful.

The placement of both the institutes is almost equal. The figures are:

For the CSE branch and allied areas, IIITD is undoubtedly the best choice. The coding culture in NIT KKR is disappointing.

The better choice for a better learning outcome after four years of engineering is IIITD until and unless you are concerned about the brand name of NIT.
